This stuff has been amazing for my skin!! There is inconclusive research on vitamins and supplements benefits for dry skin but I took a chance on these since I have acne prone skin and occasional eczema both due to dryness. After trying these people said I was glowing! I got compliments from even my guy friends. I have never had anything clear up my occasional bumps like these omega vitamins. Maskne was gone! I was finishing up grad school and sleep deprived but my skin was radiant! Never saw any difference when taking fish oil. These are magical, highly recommend.

After reading other reviews saying these have a “fishy” taste, I am happy to report that I
I detected no fishy taste in these Algae Omega 3 vegan DHA capsules, and I am a die-hard
vegan who does not like fishy tastes or smells at any time. In addition, these capsules
are very easy to swallow due to their smaller size and this is a nice feature. Garden of Life
has a great track record with the quality of its supplements and these are no exception.
Highly recommend!

This supplement is to your brain what calcium is to your bones! I am vegan and I wanted a supplement that was derived from an actual algae source—just like fish receive their nutritional benefit from algae. However, I didn’t want to take fish oil, not just because I eat a plant-based diet, but because fish absorb pollution and toxins in the ocean, and my nutritionist advised against having that in my system, especially during pregnancy. I have tried other brands in the past but am completely impressed with this Omega-3 oil. I like that they use a cold pressed process and that the Omega-3 is highly concentrated. I have bought Vegan DHA supplements before only to learn that the source was derived from sunflower oil rather than algae, and that the capsules were coated with gelatin which is disgusting. These softgels are coated with a vegetable source, they are smaller than most vitamins, are easy to swallow, and don’t have a fishy aftertaste.

I’ve been using this product for quite some time, and I liked it. However, I will be canceling my AutoShip, because I forgot that it was acquired by Nestlé. No thanks.
I used this product originally, switched to a different one, and then ended up switching back to this one. The common problem is “fishy” aftertaste. I finally figured out the solution.
Put the caps in your mouth, and chase with a little water (it doesn’t have to be a lot. Just keep things moving). Then—here is the important part—hold your mouth wide open for about 10 seconds, without touching your tongue to the top of your mouth or teeth. After those 10 seconds are up, go about your business, with no bad taste in your mouth. Drink some more water if you like, but it’s not needed. I’m surprised it take took me forever to think of this. The “tongue map” we learned about is not entirely accurate, as we now know.

I’ve tried other vegan omega 3 products and been disappointed: they promised no “fishy” smell or aftertaste and no burps but smelled and tasted nasty and I burped all day; this product is exactly as promised in the description. Definitely keeping this subscription active.

Minami Vegan DHA was an early entry into the algae-based omega 3 market, and it is a high quality product.
I appreciate the addition of the terpene astaxanthan for additional support for the eyes and further anti-inflammatory properties (in addition to omega 3), and am pleased with the ingredient list, particularly that it doesn’t contain detrimental and counter-productive ingredients, and unnecessary garbage fillers and binders. I would expect no less from Minami (and Garden of Life, who has generally been on point, aside from their lanolin bungling, having included lanolin-sourced Vitamin D in a “vegan” multi).
I think the taste is fine, regardless of what some reviewers may say. In fact the capsule has a slightly pleasant taste. Any “fishy” aromas perceived are actually from algae itself, the source of omega 3s for fish, so there isn’t much to do about it aside from a formulation not derived from algae, though I am certain that isn’t likely, and would require a composite of oils, and with the recent demonization of flax I see increasing, I find that formulation a long way off, especially so as to cater from to fear mongering of the new devil plant (still leagues behind the status of soy), but I digress. I rarely get burps from it, though occasionally do, but confess this has more to do with digestive issues and things such as likely gallbladder issues, not a fault of the product itself. The size of the pill is small, and the slipperiness of the capsule makes for an easy swallow for those that are able, however I still am unable to get my kids to take this without piercing the caps and squirting in water.
I have enjoyed this product for a number of years, however I think Minami /Garden of Life should sort of get up to date a bit more and include EPA and DPA, as well as perhaps some Vitamin E. I have very recently inquired with Garden of Life as to whether they would consider the addition of these important Omegas in a re-formulation (or as a secondary product), as well as if they would consider making a tincture form, which would make giving it to kids magnitudes easier. I will try to update this review with any response I receive from GOL regarding these suggestions.

This is a quality product with no stomach “backlash” in the form of burping.
