I’ve been using Gfuel products for a long time and this is my new breakfast routine. Even with water it tastes exactly like chocolate milk. No overtones of artificial or chemical type flavors. Big win IMO. Always pleasantly surprised by how “real” their products taste. This one was one of the best things I’ve gotten from them.
It’s not cheap but it’s worth the bucks for sure.

I like most of the GFuel products, there’s a wide variety of flavors and form factors. This product, however, isn’t quite what I wanted it to be.
I try to have a solid protein intake so my gym sessions are fueled properly, and this seemed like a solid choice to make. However, it’s got a very cheap “instant coffee” taste that I didn’t expect, and the mixability is quite poor. Even doubling the recommended water amount will leave powdery swirls at the bottom of your glass.
The 15g of protein is welcome, but I think I’ll stick to other forms of caffeine and protein for now.

I wasn’t expecting to see G Fuel to get in the protein drink game. They knocked this one out of the park, though. It’s a tasty chocolate taste without that weird protein flavor I get in a lot of other powders. The caffeine is a great benefit to it to mix in the morning routine. I usually mix it with almond milk and it tastes pretty great. I’m sure it would taste even better with regular milk. Great product here.

This Gfuel release is a bit different. I was anticipating a smooth consistent flavor profile of chocolate and coffee. But on my palate it starts with a subdued chocolate, followed by a hint of coffee. Then finishes with an overehelming, well rounded sweetness that lingers for a while.
I would have rated it above a four star if all those notes weren’t so spread out. FYI, I am a wine drinker so I tend to focus on palate details.
You will definitely need at the minimum a shaker cup. My first attempt was pouring it into a water bottle. Absolute failure to mix by shaking.
Also at $2.00 per serving this it at the high end.
I can’t complain about the energy though. I found myself speaking fast and sweating on night shift after drinking this.
It does it’s job, I just wish the flavor profile was a bit more conisitent across my palate.

I’ve been drinking this recently as a snack in the afternoon and it’s been a tasty boost. I’m doing this with 16oz of milk in a shaker bottle. The 1 scoop dissolves completely in the cold milk with minimum amount of shaking which is nice. I don’t want to have to add an extra workout just to get a drink.
Taste this is really tasty – it’s basically chocolate milk with a kick. In the afternoon it’s made a good snack and perks me up but doesn’t give me any kind of jitters. You’re getting a nice little protein boost, caffeine hit, and a bit more macros for the day without much calories.
Price wise this is fine. It’s on the lower side of average when it comes to protein mixes I’ve used. Just over a dollar per shake (plus a bit more if you’re using milk) for a protein shake and coffee worth of caffeine is a good deal. I’ve used GFuel in the past for their drink mixes and this was my first try for their protein mixes and I’d be glad to buy more to keep my afternoon snacks.
