Contains 900mg of flavanols, this product has a high content of the healthy stuff we all can benefit from. We mix it into our protein drinks and it adds to the flavor of the drink.

Ok! So the Flava Mix powder was the best deal between this and the chocolate bars. We did taste test the chocolate bars at the Boston Marathon expo and they were delicious!!! But ultimately not cost effective. So we have been experimenting with the mix. Ultimately you have to get the right ratio of whatever you are mixing it into. A full scoop into yogurt works for my husband but not for me – I don’t want to eat that much yogurt. Mixing it into oat milk is okay but not particularly enjoyable. I usually like bitter dark chocolate but a full scoop is a lot to mix in anywhere. What DOES work great for us is mixing a scoop into our pints of ice cream using the Ninja Creami. We make our own ice cream and blend the mix right in – so far we have mixed it with bananas and Oatly and it’s excellent!! Gives it a nice flavor and it mixes well. As far as effectiveness, my husband was better about using it daily before racing and he thinks it did have a positive impact. It’s always hard to tell of course if a lower heart rate was due to whatever reason, but we will keep testing it. So far so good.

This is the third time I’ve purchased this powder, and I figured it’s time I wrote a review. The quality is constantly great. My nutritionist suggested I try adding flavonoids into my diet since I love chocolate, and they’ve had proven health benefits. This was the brand she suggested, and I’m very happy with it! I add it daily to yogurt or protein shakes. Try adding to coffee shakes – it makes it amazing!

Flava Mix is an outstanding product ! By having 900 mgs. of Cocoa Flavonols in each scoop it far exceeds the 500 mgs amount used in the famous COSMOS study which indicated the benefits of Cocoa Flavonols on a variety of body systems…cardiovascular, brain especially.
It is great added to one’s coffee, yogurt, any type of smoothie, ice cream, etc.
It is the only company to my knowldege that selects coffee beans that have been shown to have high levels of Cocoa Flavonols whch is a more important measure of value than the percentage of cacao. Take it in any beverage about an hour before your workout with whey protein and creatine and see the difference! I add small amounts to many foods throughout the day …the positive effects are cumulative.

Even with an electric mixer this does not stay in solution, lots of product just sits at the bottom of the cup. Taste is not good. I was hoping that the high price would mean a tasty product but I was wrong.

This is our new go to for smoothies. We increased our focus on nutrition a couple of years ago and cacao powder became a staple for a chocolate fix in a healthier form. We use it in baking and smoothies. I came across an article on the benefits of flavanols and have made an effort to increase my daily intake. This company has some really good chocolate bars (roasted almond + pink Himalayan sea salt is my favorite) but in the warmer weather I prefer a smoothie. I tried this and it has replaced our cacao powder. It has a high concentration of flavanols and tastes great. It doesn’t have added sugar, so you have to sweeten it (I prefer fruit but sometimes add a bit of agave for the kids). My pre-workout energy boost this summer has been a scoop of this with some ice, unsweetened almond milk, a banana, and sometimes a bit of almond butter (depends on calorie goals). If I have it post-workout, I add some protein powder as well.

Pretty much the gold standard for a flavanol powder. The choice of ingredients is really the best part – just simplicity and natural ingredients. No weird sweeteners. Perfection even. For what it does, it’s a great product. I only wish the price were a bit better, doesn’t seem particularly expensive to produce but what do I know
