It may be the same main ingredient as Citucel for a ton less $, but tends to clump in mass that is impossible to dissolve no matter what your water temp or stirring effort. Arnold Schwartzenager couldn’t stir this hard enough to dissolve. You only get about 30 seconds before it turns to sludge and is undrinkable. Fortunately it tastes pretty good. So close, just not quite there.

I was looking for a replacement for SUGAR-FREE CITRUCEL and thought that I had found it. I carefully looked at the photos of the product to see if it contained sugar or other artificial sweeteners. I could NOT read the micro type on the photo of the label in the product ad. I decided to risk it, only to find that it not only had as much sugar as a meal in one serving but also a sweetener that I DON’T tolerate, SORBITOL. When I received the package and actually was able to read the label, I was disappointed. THEN, I tried to return the product only to find that it was NOT RETURNABLE. even though it is unopened. WHAT A WASTE. AVOID THIS SELLER.

This product isn’t quite like the citrucal brand name, no amount of mixing will dissolve it. If you don’t want to waste it, we found blending it with vanilla milk alternative made it more palatable. Also, shipping always takes forever so if it is part of your daily routine, buy one as soon as one arrives.

Lots of complaints from people about clumps. Just put warm water instead of cold in glass, stir in product. With warm water it mixes fine.

I am a daily user of Citrucel for many years, could not source it, found this, tried it, and I am satisfied. I add it to my daily oatmeal so for me it is the same as Citrucel and a lot cheaper. I was curious about the country of origin. I called the maker, Major, it is from the USA.

When Citrucel was discontinued, I was excited because it said “Compare to the Active Ingredients in Citrucel”.
It is more expensive, has a CA lead warning, and can’t be returned. I put the tablespoon in a full glass of water which immediately formed into a big glob. I stirred and stirred and it broke into smaller globs that settled to the bottom of the glass. So…when you drink it, you get most of it in a gulp. I notice it also had a choking hazard warning on it. NOT a safe product and so unhappy I can’t get my money back.

I figured out that if I started stirring my water before slowly pouring a tablespoon of the product into the spinning water it mixed perfectly and did not clump. If you just dump it in a glass of water and start stirring after, you get clumps.
This brand works much better for me than the name brand available and I’m almost gave up on it due to the clumping until I figured out to start stirring first and then gradually pour the product in while stirring. It’s worth the extra step because the product works much better for me than other name brands available. Taste the same.
