So happy to have found this! Our dog has EPI and needs B12 supplement. Her bi-weekly shots were just not “doing the job” and several members in the EPI support group I’m in recommended finding B12 with Intrinsic factor…
I have been adding one caplet to her food each morning and it’s making enough of a difference that I have NOTICED she is calmer and happier (even at meal time when she used to be very frantic and stressed. My cat suffers from IBS. I had no idea about this pesky illness except this cat of mine was always known for his runs. After much research, I started giving him vitamin B12. This brand. Daily. Well, zeus, who,s 17 years old, has been on it now for about 4 months . Low and behold, his poop is no longer like what it was before. I think he is as good as it gets at present. So long as he,s on this vitamin, old Zeus has been doing real well. I guess the little fella needed the B12 to help with his digestion n absorption n processing of foods. I recalled, n not too long ago, when Zeus was ill, the vet had to give him medication to calm the inflammation in his intestines, as well as antibiotics. He would get all well and then, the bad runny poop would start right back up again. What a nightmare that was for him. So, if your cat has IBS, this vitamin B12 can only help it.

Our dog, Moses, recently suffered from horrible weight loss and was diagnosed with EPI. We were told that he may not gain weight back until he did B-12 shots, however we purchased this specific B-12 with Intrinsic Factor that was listed on an EPI website and he is doing GREAT! He started gaining the weight back and while he still has a long way to go to get back to his healthy weight, he is on the road to recovery. We used these in conjunction with enzyme supplements and a grain free diet. We were told not to do this supplement permanently but just when he needs it, so we used this full bottle (one capsule a day) until it ran out and now we are waiting until he shows signs of needing it again. This item seems to go in and out of stock but just wait it out…it will return.

I give this to my German Shepherd with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) since her B12 was so low. I will update when her blood level is rechecked. But so far, without b12 shots and using this alone, her energy perked back up after about three weeks giving it twice per day. I plan to cut back to once per day as maintenance and readjust further if necessary after her blood panel is checked. So glad this is available. Dogs with EPI don’t have pancreatic function to make intrinsic factor, which is needed to use B12. Without intrinsic factor, all the B12 in the world won’t do a bit of good with a failing pancreas.
UPDATE: Two years later, we are still using this, once per day, and never had to have the shots. Each dog is different, but mine is doing well on these alone. Regular buyer and very thankful!

This is a wonderful option for EPI dogs. The Intrinsic Factor helps with the absorption of the Folate/B-12. I am no doctor but would recommend trying this first before doing the injections. My dog has been diagnosed with EPI since 2012– no issues with levels since. Now keep in mind that not all EPI dogs can absorb B-12 thru their digestive system but it is worth a try for the ease of use and cost savings vs. injections.

We use this “Trinfac-B” by Wonder Labs to successfully supplement our German shepherd’s food. She eats Royal Canin ‘Ultamino’ kibble (Rx only) with one capsule Trinfac-B sprinkled on top of her food in the morning, plus one tiny 10 mg tab of prednisone. It feels like a miracle for us as she suffered from poor absorption of B12 and diarrhea off and on until we got her correctly diagnosed. She no longer has any diarrhea episodes and has slowly gained weight. Her feeding routine stays the same every day and we are rewarded by her beauty, love and loyalty and now, excellent health. Highly recommend.
Update: July 5, 2017. Our GSD at her wellness exam had her blood taken for a blood panel. The results were excellent. We were very pleased to see as a result of sprinkling one capsule of the Trinfac-B on her kibble in the morning she now has “normal levels” of both B 12 and folate.
