Hydrogel is a runny gel with a medicinal scent that covers a wide area and leaves no residue at all. It does seem to improve the skin’s natural moisture barrier and reduce redness/itching, but the “cooling sensation” is non-existent and it doesn’t moisturize on its own particularly well; dry skin is still somewhat dry immediately after application, so follow-up with another moisturizer is recommended. At $20, I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Eucerin is my go to brand for these kinds of products. I never had a bad experience and they always help relieve my dry, itchy skin!
I really like the texture of this product. It isn’t heavy and thick like a moisturizing cream. It is very thin and lightweight like a gel. A good description of it would be a gel-cream since it falls somewhere in the middle of the texture of those two.
I love that it glides easily over my skin. Once absorbed, my skin is left feeling hydrated, smooth, and soothed. It looks healthy and all of the dry, flaky patches are gone. I LOVE that it didn’t leave my skin feeling heavy, greasy, or coated. The cooling effect feels so nice on irritated skin!
The fragrance is a bit medicinal but it dissipates quickly. For those sensitive to fragrances, I think this one should be okay as it doesn’t have any strong perfumey scents.
I do not actually have eczema but I do have EXTREMELY dry, itchy patches of skin in the dry, winter months. Regular lotions do nothing to relieve it. I am left flaky and eventually raw/irritated from constantly scratching. You can literally see the red “claw marks” on my legs from how much I itch them!!!! I found that eczema products work wonders for my itchies! This product tackled my dry skin with ease. No flaking, no itching, no dry spots!

This is very lightweight, which is good because I can’t stand creams and gels that leave a residue. This also works very well for the areas where I need it most (in my case, near my eyebrows). It helps keep things properly moisturized without pasting my eyebrows to my skin.

This gel applies thinly and lightly onto my skin. After applying it, it feels like it disappeared soon after unlike their lotion kind that feels like it stays on forever until it gets rubbed off. Essentially, this one feels soothing, and the substance doesn’t linger on the skin.

I have been using this tube of Eucerin Hydro gel for about a week. I find that it absorbs quickly into my skin and does feel good on the itchy, dry areas. I have seen that other people are upset about the fact that it contains denatured alcohol. I have not found this to irritate my skin at all. I believe that this is what provides the cooling relief and allows it to dry quickly. I think the price is a little high, but I do like the product overall.

This hydrogel lotion is just okay in my opinion. It is a very thin formula and not as rich and moisturizing as I’d expect. It is very gentle and doesn’t sting or irritate dry skin which I do like. I just don’t feel like it is moisturizing enough. The bottle is a good size, but this is very pricey. I don’t think the value is there and I would not buy again.
