Trying Stuff Since 2022 –
This toner is great overall, and the only drawback for me is that it has a moderately strong perfume fragrance. It leaves my skin hydrated and refreshed for hours, and well prepped for the rest of my skincare routine. It has a medium viscosity (consistency) so it’s easy to spread over my face with my hands instead of a cotton ball. It has no eye sting.

I’m not sure why they are calling this a lotion but it’s actually a liquid. I’d consider it a moisturizing essence. I apply it right out of the shower before any moisturizer or any other skincare. This does have kind of a strong scent so if you can only use unscented products this won’t be your jam. For myself I prefer unscented but I can tolerate a scent if the product is worth it. And in my opinion this one is worth it. I have dry skin and this has been helping. It absorbs super fast and you can basically apply it repeatedly to give your skin a ton of moisture. I’ve had no trouble with any makeup not playing well with this product and on some days just this gives me enough moisture all on its own.

I used to use Estee Lauder products exclusively until they changed their origin Renutrive line. So, I was looking forward to trying this product because I’ve not shopped their products for several years.
They have (or, had) a Renutrive lotion that was similarly packaged and consistency and, it was actually a toner. This Soft Clean Infusion Hydrating Skin Essence Face Lotion is the same.
I cleanse my face and hands thoroughly and dry it. Then I put around a “dime” size pool of this in my palm and apply it to my face. It leaves my skin soft with a very light hydrated feeling. It is not meant to be as moisturizing as a face cream and even the instructions state to follow it with a serum and face cream. It has a light floral scent that I find pleasant.
The only negative about this is that it is not cruelty free. Estee has some products that contain animal products and while they don’t directly test products on animals; they sell to countries that require testing on animals prior to being able to see the product. Since Estee doesn’t test themselves, this means they pay to have it done in the country they wish to sell their products. China is probably one of those countries. I shop at Sephora frequently and there is a plethora of cruelty free/leaping bunny certified cosmetic lines in the store. I prefer cruelty free/leaping bunny certified products so I’ll pass this lotion on to a friend.
