I’m not big on writing reviews here; mostly because I’m asked too soon for me to write a response. That said, I have been using this product for a year now. I have psoriasis and my lips used to peel and then bleed when I’d mess with the peeling skin. I do a lot of hiking and backpacking so I thought I would give this product a chance and bought one tube a year ago. I immediately felt the difference from the chapstick I had. There wasn’t the waxy feeling I was used to. It wasn’t long before I realized that my lips weren’t peeling like before. I was transferring the one tube back and forth from purse to backpack. I was also using it at night and wanted it on my night stand. Then at work the next day, I’d realize that I didn’t have it with me. So I bought more tubes. I then bought the 3 pack so I could have one in my purse, at my bedside, in my backpack and in my work bag. I had an extra tube and gave it to my husband when he needed chapstick. He didn’t like the size of the tube as it is a little larger than the average tube of chapstick. He started carrying it though as he didn’t have another option. Yesterday he asked me to order him two tubes of it. He says it took a little getting used to the taste as there is no flavoring (he is very taste sensitive). He must be used to it as I just ordered a 3 pack so he could have 2 tubes.

This is the best non-wax, non-petroleum lip product I’ve ever tried. Regular lipstick makes my lips crack. I watch Chapstick users reapply hourly. I use this a couple of times a day and it works like magic without feeling slimy.

I’d been applying either straight Vaseline or another petroleum based product to my lips each night at bedtime for years with no problem. One day I awoke with fat lips – looking as though I’d been punched in the face. The swelling took several days to go down and I was left with sore chapped lips that lingered for days. I stopped using anything on my lips and tried again with the Vaseline several weeks later. Same result. After much research I discovered this Emu Oil Balm and found that it works perfectly for me! It is soothing and non-irritating, and has no petroleum or other chemical ingredients. It seemed pricey at first but since I only use it at night the tube consistently lasts me 15 months. I’m on my third tube and hope they never stop making this product!

I have super picky lips when it comes to chapstick; Carmex didn’t even work for me!
I bought this a few times and it did its job really well! I have intense cracking on my mouth (on the sides) and it helped tremendously! I remember not being able to even eat because it’d hurt to open my mouth.
After a while of using it, it began to ruin my lips. My lips got super irritated, big, red, itchy, and most of all puss was something that woke me up every night. I had to move to a different chapstick- I guess expensive & on-brands aren’t for me.

I came across of this product from customer’s reviews. I was searching for a lip balm that is gentle and will help my flareup of eczema on my lips. I had a bad flare up ,causing my lips to swell up,cracked, dried skin and with burning sensation. After using Banish Chapped lips Emu Joy it gives me comfort and my lips started to heal & feel better after 48 hours. Since them I have been using this product for 2 years now. It has no scent ,no flavor, and it’s moisturizing. The only thing I would suggest is to order from the manufacturer website itself, instead of Amazon , only because of the price. Amazon charged me $22.99 +tax=$25.35.
When I order on EmuJoy website ( emujoy.com) it will only cost me $18.00/ stick (same size). I also get a free shipping and 10% discount. Hope this review will help.

For the past 3 months, I’ve been struggling with dry peeling lips. My lips have consistently been in some stage of peeling, or raw and uncomfortable. After researching around the internet for what could help, reading reviews and comparing products, I thought this lip balm would be the thing to finally help me. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting some overnight miracle, but it managed to make a bad problem worse. It turns out I don’t just have chapped lips, I have developed and am suffering from something called exfoliative cheilitis. (If your lip has been stuck in a cycle of peeling for an extended period of time and you can’t figure out why, I recommend looking into this.) So I don’t blame the product for not working, because I’m dealing with something that can’t be treated normally. But I can say that once I switched to this, the peeling worsened and I started experiencing new problems. I can’t pinpoint exactly which ingredient(s) were irritating, but it’s important to remember that just because a product is natural doesn’t mean it can’t cause harm, even butters and oils can aggravate your lip especially when it’s in a compromised state. But even despite the condition I’m dealing with and the experience I had, I was searching for something soft that could glide on easily and not tug at the delicate skin on my lips, and this product was the most gentle to apply of all stick balms I tried. That was really the best thing about it though, and I was only able to use it for a few days. I have since switched to 100% Lanolin, not the kind marketed here as lip balm just plain ol nipple cream from the baby aisle in Walmart, and for the first time since this whole ordeal with my lip began, I’m experiencing relief. I haven’t peeled in a week, and that’s the longest I’ve made it so far. It’s the best thing I’ve tried, since it’s waterproof and creates a barrier like Vaseline but isn’t so gross or detrimental. Some people can be sensitive to it though, so I be mindful if you do decide to try it.
Also, the Naturals New Zealand Emu Oil Lip Balm is good as well. I maybe prefer it over this one. It lasts longer on the lips when applied, it has less ingredients (which is good when your lips are in a sensitive state) (and emu oil is the first ingredient rather than the third or fourth), it has shea butter vs the cocoa butter in this one (the cocoa butter clogged the little pores around my lips quickly), and it’s soft to glide on as well. The only thing better about this one is it’s a larger tube, but it also costs more so I don’t think it really counts as a perk.
