I’d never made elderberry syrup before buying this kit. I had just run out of a store-bought elderberry tincture/syrup and found that making it was a cheaper option. This was very easy to use and I was able to quadruple(?) the amount of elderberry syrup yielded by doubling to 9 cups of water at a time and letting it simmer twice as long. I did this two times since there was such a large amount of elderberries in the tea bag. The second go round I simmered even longer. It ended up making 128 ounces, which is awesome! I added some honey for taste and it tastes good enough to NOT dread drinking it everyday. For anymore wondering, it has a tea consistency, not thick like syrup.

Wonderful product! 10/10! So easy to make and easy to read directions. I made one batch and had read in reviews on Amazon that others had made 2-3 batches out of their kit. I got about 2 1/2 batches out of the kit. It made approx 10 cups of elderberry syrup. Please understand that homemade elderberry syrup is NOT a syrup. It is more of a tea product. Commercial companies in big stores make it into a syrup, meaning more crape put into the product. This kit is wonderful for a beginner. Easy instructions and had everything you need to make elderberry syrup. I added 2 tbsps of local honey to each batch, you don’t have to but it gives it a nice little sweetness. The color is beautiful too! Will def buy again!

For someone who has never tasted Elderberry, or used elderberry, but was eager to incorporate it into their lives, this was very convenient.
We are a large family, and I’m trying to find better ways to keep us safe and healthy during the winter months. I’ve done research on elderberry, and fire cider, and was looking for the best options, and came across these premade kits and thought, why not! I’m still trying to get use to what grows around us in Utah, and thought this was going to be great for me to get familiar with elderberry.
My plan was to make the syrup, and with other reviews mentioning they got more out of their bags, I thought I would do 2 batches. One for gummies and one with different sweeteners.
I think, I should have done 2 separate batches, because I think it was a bit watery. Still had that taste of elderberry, I think, but I think, it’s suppose to be stronger. So, I was a bit bummed.
Then when I went to make gummies, nothing was setting up. I dunno what my deal was. And I was more mad I waisted the precious elderberry on products that didn’t work. Ugh.
If I want to try again, I’ll need to order another bag. And honestly, I didn’t think there was a whole lot in the bag to start with. Which made me wonder how these people were getting so much, rich dark products when doubling.
I dunno. The convenience is way nice. But, I guess I was a little too eager, and jumped the gun, and should have just done step by step of what the package said.
I also want to know what I can do with the product afterwards. I wonder if I can dehydrate it, again, and then maybe blend it to a powder and use in, I dunno, face scrubs or lotions or balms or salves.
I’m hesitant on ordering again, but I think this was the right way to go. Ugh. I’m a mess. Haha
