To take the edge off if you’re sitting for an hour or two this stuff is fantastic. Did not work at all on the under part of my upper arm. I wanted to punch someone the pain was so bad but worked well on other areas. Not recommended if sitting for 3+ Hours because it wears off after 90 minutes; however, if you’re able to reapply, I recommend it for sure.

Yes, it works, if you properly prepare. The photos attached were for a 1.5 hr outline/touchup/coverup followed by 3 hrs of blue coloring. It completely numbed me the entire time except for the last 30 minutes. At which point the effectiveness dropped to about 50%, so, still completely worth it.
I would suggest applying a ‘test sample’ the day prior to your tattoo. Do this by applying a small amount to the back of your hand and cover it with wrap. Let it sit about 30 minutes. This will make sure you don’t have a reaction to this cream (as some people do).
If you don’t have any redness then you are clear.
The day of, here’s what I did (2 hours prior to appointment):
– Hot Shower (opens pores).
– Apply A LOT of cream (I used 1 complete bottle at this point).
– Wrap the area with plastic wrap.
– Wrap the area with additional heat source (I used a heating pad). This helps keep your pores open and let’s the cream really get into your skin.
– After 1 hour, I removed wrap, reapplied more cream (1/2 of new bottle), rewrap area, cycle heat source (I started cycling my heat source on and off because the numbing cream was really starting to take effect at this point because I realized I couldn’t feel the heat from the pad anymore and did not want to overdo the heat applied to my arm prior to the appointment).
– 15 minutes before appointment I removed wrap and wash the area with warm water until all cream and residue was completely gone.
Two things to note at this point:
1: At this point, the texture of my skin was different, almost ‘puffy’, this was not due to the cream but rather the amount and length of heat I had applied to the area.
2: The color of my skin was red, looked like I had a bad sunburn. Again, this was due to the amount and length of heat applied.
– Both these points were remedied by thoroughly cleaning the area with water, and by turning on the AC in my car to full coldness, allowing cold air over my arm on the drive to the shop.
– By the time I arrived to the shop all the redness and texture difference in my skin was completely gone (no need to freak out my tattoo artist).
– It was about 30 minutes or so from the time I removed the cream and the time my tattoo artist started tattooing.
All in all, this product did work for me. But, I did do a lot of prep for it to do so. Simply applying this to your skin would probably not be effective if you are looking to get a tattoo.
Remember; actually sitting for the tattoo is only about 5% of the work. The remaining 95% comes from property preparing for the tattoo and the aftercare of the tattoo.

Works great and last awhile. Longer than I expected and I’ve tried several different ones and this is by far the best out of all 10.

Ok so longer review here!
I got this per my tattoo artist recommendation when I was scared to get my shin done. I don’t use numbing a lot except for the bony places on my body or very long sessions. In the past I only had success with numbing sprays when my skin was opened from already hours of work. So I was skeptical but wanted to try as I was nervous.
So I have used this product now and the same 2 pack for the following tattoos:
1 large stomach piece, 1 hand sized shin piece, and 1 hand sized kneecap piece. And after all I still have 1 whole bottle left with the intention of using it for my next shin and kneecap.
For every tattoo I mentioned I felt NOTHING. The tattoo was painless. At most I felt the needle vibrate against my bones which was very strange but there was no pain. And this did not impact the tattoo quality itself, none of the tattoos I got with this product needed touching up after my session and held the color/lines quite nicely with no damage to the skin.
How my artist told me to use this:
1. shower in a VERY hot shower and if possible and safely without knicking my skin or causing razor burn shave the area to be tattooed or exfoliate the skin to really open the skin. Stay in the steaming shower for a while.
2. Get out lightly pat the skin dry and quickly apply the numbing cream in THICK globs.
3. Immediately wrap it up with saran wrap and tape it down to basically let the numbing cream soak in.
4. Now my extra step since I travel far for my tattoos is after an hour I do reapply if necessary.
5. go into the shop and let your artist take care of the rest make sure you keep the saran wrap on till your getting cleaned and stenciled and trust me you will be numb!
The skin does get red and you do lose a lot of feeling. With my stomach it was weird to me cause movement felt alien but it is completely fine, I would also discuss with a doctor if you have any concerns cause its your body but mine handled it fine!
Lastly to everyone also tell your artist you are numbing or ask them every artist is different on their opinions with this matter but my artist is very supportive and doesn’t want to hurt me and would rather me come in for touch ups and be comfortable than just drill down into me, but it is imperative they know so they can make sure they are prepared best for your session!

I got this for numbing during laser tattoo removal (pico) and it worked so well! I barely felt most of the removal and didn’t need to take any breaks. I put this on several hours before and covered it in Saran Wrap then reapplied every hour and a half hour before the appointment. I’m not sure if all that is necessary because I felt it go numb with the first application, but I wanted to be safe because of how bad laser removal hurt previously with no numbing cream. This was a life saver!
