I like these EASYDEW DW-EGF Clear Patch – Outdoor UV Block Ultra-Thin Transparent Sun Patches. You want to apply them on clean, dry skin but then you can apply sunscreen over them. You might wonder what is the point of them if I’m applying sunscreen anyway. For me, it is back up on areas that tend to burn when I’m out sailing regardless of if I’ve applied and kept up with sunscreen. Instead of bright red cheeks, my face stays normal looking.
Application is relatively easy, but there is a small learning curve to get it to lay perfectly flat. The second one I put on was way better than the first. But once you have them on they stay on pretty well even with sweating and are relatively invisible (if you look close you can see it, but otherwise no).

As someone who has a lot of melasma after childbirth, I found this a novel way to give me extra protection on my face. It goes on transparent and is easy to apply. I am not someone who wears a lot of makeup, so I did not apply anything after adhering these to my face. Believe it or not, we need protection from the computer light as well as daylight, so I found this to be a good solution for my purposes. I have liked wearing these as daily protection from the computer light as well as natural light when walking my dog several times per day. I am not doing a lot of activity that causes sweating, so I found this stayed on nicely.

I worr these out on a hot sunny 84 degrees day, hoping to shield my melasma spots from dreaded uv rays. After 25 mins I had to remove them. My cheeks were stinging and sore. Fast forward 9 hrs, it’s bedtime and my cheeks are still puffy irritated and stinging. Needless to say I am having a reaction to this product. I would like to add that they are not invisible, at least on my skin tone. They looked like dried white glue on my cheeks and were quite noticeable. This is pricey for a set of four, and I would recommend investing in a good sunscreen instead.

These are interesting. I could see a mask/patch that covers the whole face, but just covering the one small area near your eyes is just a little odd because you’ll need to apply sunscreen elsewhere on your face.
And because these don’t have a clear SPF equivalent, you’re trying to match sun protection properties of these vs a traditional sunscreen, which if you don’t get right, will lead to uneven darkening of your face. On a non-essential part of your body, fine, but your face is pretty critical.
Plus, they’re expensive.

I have this horrible large age spot on my upper cheek just under my right eye. I’m in my 60’s so I am certain it is from years of sun exposure. For many years I did not use sunscreen and now that error has shown up on my face. We live in the southern part of the U.S. in the coldest of the winter months. It is surprisingly warm there and we love to spend time outdoors at the beach or at the pool. Water is reflective and consequently normal sun exposure is even more damaging. I like that I can pair this patch with my sunscreen to help protect already damaged skin from the sun.

This is nice to have for some sports, but in day to day life, I think I’d rather wear protective sunglasses that cover a good portion of my face.
These are made to have makeup be able to go over it. That is the first time I’ve seen patches like that. It is light and not heavy like the other UV under eye patches that I’ve tried. It also blends in more and isn’t as noticeable. Another thing that makes these different is the patch has several ingredients, including Niacinamide, which is b3.
I think these are a good idea if you’re someone who tends to wear makeup that has sun protection and want a bit extra or if you’re into sports that may make it difficult to keep sunglasses or sunscreen on.
