I don’t think there’s ever been a Drunk Elephant product I haven’t loved, and this is no exception. This clean beauty brand is always a winner. The mineeral sunscreen works great. It’s tinted (and probably best for medium skintones. I am a light neutral skintone, and it’s a bit dark for me. It has a yellow ochre tone. If you’ve tried the tinted sunscreen brand that doesn’t use vowels, that one tends to the pinkier side of things, and it’s thinner than Drunk Elephant, because it’s not strictly a mineral sunscreen. D. E. has more coverage, but being mature, I had to really moisturize and oil my skin before the sunscreen to keep it from getting cakey. What’s nice is that it isn’t quitee as shiny as the other brand. Honestly, I’d probably mix this with my clear sunscreen so it’s not as thick/opaque. It’s very foundation-like, and I tend to try for a “bare face” look. To put enough sunscreen on for effectiveness, I find the tinted ones, are better as a secondary layer. So, mixing this with my no-vowel clear sunscreen, will be the Goldilocks sweet-spot.

This is a trust the process kind of sunscreen, it comes out very thick and a light pink color from the tube. It is very streaky and an obvious sunscreen when I first start to apply it, but after some buffing it does blend into the skin and become sheer. It is a very glowy sunscreen, I would not recommend this to people with oily skin. However, because it is thick, I feel like I can get a good coat of product on my skin and it doubles as a base for finishing powder to stick to if you’re into that. I would not characterize this as a lightweight sunscreen, I can definitely feel it on my skin. The tube makes it easy to squeeze product out and know how much you have left. I like the sunscreen, but removed a star because it makes my face look pretty greasy without any other products over it. This is a good going to the beach sunscreen, but is not one I’d reach for daily use because I don’t always want to layer products and feel like it’s necessary to tone down the shine with this one.

This is a heavy, cream product. It takes a while to absorb into my skin and I still blot off any excess. It is not too yellow for my skin tone and it does not leave a white cast after it is fully absorbed… but… my skin tone is very fair so if you have a different skin tone it might be different for you. I also use it in lieu of a moisturizer. I have had problems in the past with chemical sunscreens (they irritate my eyes and skin) so I search for mineral sunscreens. Most of the mineral sunscreens leave a white cast even on my fair skin. I was pleased to find this product that I can wear successfully.

I really like this mineral sunblock. I like that it is not as thick a cream as other mineral sunblocks I have used and absorbs quickly with no traces of white on my face. I live in a high alpine environment and it’s sunny often so I wear sunblock on my face every day. Many chemical style sunblocks irritate my face, especially around my eyes. I had no such issue with this cream. It’s pretty awesome and I will likely get it again!

Cruelty free, easily absorbed and with vitamin c! Shiny sports can be easily covered with a dab of powder.

I’ve used Umbra Tinte along with other Drunk Elephant products for several years with uniformly good results. Unfortunately, the formulation for Umbra Tinte has recently changed … the color is more orange than it used to be and the coverage is heavier (more opaque) … the scent (which is not a fragrance, just whatever is in the product) has also changed for the worse. An online chat with a company rep unfortunately was unsuccessful in trying to buy the older version.

I usually wear makeup labeled fair-light neutral or sometimes even Ivory and I can definitely wear a lightly tinted brown mineral SPF but I opted to order the sheer light SPF option from Drunk Elephant. This seemed to be a little light and maybe a little cool for my skin but I think it may turn out to be the right option for the times of the year where I get a tad bit paler. As with most tinted SPFs I find I can get most of the cast out by heavily blending the product. This SPF was pretty thick but it does blend. Then I just made sure to blend well with my make up products before leaving the house (not pictured in my attached photos). I included a photo of my skin with the product squirted on it then with it blended into my skin. I found that it does not pill or cause any major issues with layering skincare products or makeup. I found it nice enough to wear without any side effects or irritation. I am happy with the color and it gives me options as I still have a few darker tint options in my house. The only area where I think this product could be improved beyond maybe being neutral in color is to have a slightly higher SPF like some similar competing products.

This mineral cream blends smoothly and evenly into my skin, which is normal. I do not wear an SPF on an everyday occassion, though I probably should more often than I do, but I will feel very comfortable wearing this with or without makeup as needed. It is nice that if I choose to not wear makeup, it does provide some coverage without feeling heavy. It has a very natural feel and look to it. I have used other products of Drunk Elephant and have always enjoyed them!
