Good buyer –
I been used Drano clog remover long time to tackle a stubborn clog in my milk tea cafe sink. As we know we use a lot milk, tea , sugar and oil. And my grease trap was too small to handle it , so it clog easily. I usually pay over $100 for people to fix it which is way too much. So I start to use drano. The problem go away with Less money . It is very simple to do so just pour it down the drain and wait 15mins and pour hot water. No smell at all.

EDIT: I just got more of this and the carrier was not careful with the box and when I picked it up it was moist and had a strong, almost like scented bleach smell. STILL washing my hands as while it’s not burning, it’s tingling. When I actually use the gel I wear gloves, but you don’t expect the box you receive it in to be damp on the bottom!

My experience and my skill set!
First, I’m a woman in her 70’s who has had to figure out stuff on her own (basically online)
I had a slow running shower. It would drain, but even a quick ten minute shower would fill the tub about up to my ankles and when you think of that water is from whatever is backing up your drain…ew.
IT would drain within about 15 mins after shower, but hated standing in any water.
Like others have said, I would IGNORE the directions and leave in longer. When I take a shower tonight, I will see if the water is moving as fast as I want it to. I notice in the bullet points, it says you can leave product in overnight.
I got two of the LARGE 80 oz bottles.
I put HALF of one in and let sit 30 mins, didn’t add water, I then just poured the other half in.
I let that sit about an hour and half, so total two hours and used a whole bottle.
I thought about leaving in longer, some said they left in overnight, so like 8 hours, some said they left in 24 hours. Well, I live in a one bedroom condo with one bathroom, one shower/tub, so….
I shut the door as I have two curious cats while it did it’s thing.
I started pouring really hot tap water at first, wasn’t really moving that fast, but I did that a bunch of times, then I heated water in a small pot (I have cats underfoot and in my 70’s and have to walk from kitchen to bathroom with uber hot water, so I didn’t want to take biggest pot to try to do this).
I noticed after a few times with really hot water (when bubbles start to form at bottom of pot, doesn’t have to be rolling boil), the water was going down quicker.
Makes sense. I figure the gel LOOSENS it, but the more and the HOTTER the water, the quicker through the pipes.
Now, if I had LEFT it sitting for 8 or 24 hours before putting water down, would it have helped more? MAYBE. But I think the close to boiling water being poured in helped move it along.
The gel is obviously strong. I actually have some safety goggles someone gave me and i used plain disposable gloves just to be cautious. AND I would keep your kids and pets AWAY til all is resolved and you’ve cleaned out any residue from tub/shower.
TIP! While I am sure this LOOSENED clog, built up shampoo or soap, the BOILING WATER is what always seems to really make it work. SUGGESTION Once you do clear your drain, every day or so just take a pot of boiling water and pour down drain! THIS will help keep clear longer and build up down especially if it’s just from product buildup. Can’t say if there is a lot of hair clogging drain (I have very short fine hair, so it’s product build up from shampoo and soap) the hot water alone would help. But putting boiling water down drain at least every few days or even week, well think about it, boiling water dissolves.

Bottomline: after doing several of the small pots of super hot water and then running the tub with the stopper open for awhile, the water is moving pretty darn fast.
But my takeaway after reading a ton of reviews, leave it in longer than it says. I didn’t even have STANDING water, tub/shower was empty of water when I poured in and it still took me MANY pots of water (I could tell it was starting to go down as it kind of burbled/bubbled) to get the job done.

Drano Max Gel is a game-changer! It quickly cleared a stubborn shower drain clog caused by hair and soap scum. The gel formula clings to pipes, working fast without a harsh chemical smell. The 80 oz bottle offers great value, and it’s easy to use.

It didn’t have the standard safety cap and the freshness seal was missing. Different consistency than the dran-o I’ve used in the US. Didn’t do much to unclog the drain.

This works great for clogged drains. Easy to use and I like that it’s a gel. I’ve purchased this product 3 times and it’s worked every time on our showers and sinks

this item seems to be okay. It did not help resolve our issue. It was better to invest in a good plunger to get drains better flowing again.

Who knew that a bottle of Drano Max Gel could turn my humdrum life into a riveting adventure? It’s not just a drain cleaner, folks; it’s a symbol of hope and redemption. Armed with this gel, I approached my clogged sink like a hero in a Hollywood blockbuster. The instructions were simple—pour, wait, flush—and yet the anticipation was palpable. Would it work? Would my plumbing woes finally end? Or would I once again face the dreaded call to the plumber, complete with eye-watering bills and shattered dignity?
And then… the magic happened. Or maybe it didn’t—it’s hard to tell. The water eventually drained, but was it the Drano Max, or did the clog just get tired of my whining and decide to leave? Either way, I felt victorious. For a brief, shining moment, I was the master of my domain, wielding the power of gel-based chemistry to banish evil from my pipes.
But let’s not get carried away. Sometimes Drano Max works like a charm, and sometimes it stares at your clog with the same enthusiasm as a bored teenager at work. Life-changing? Perhaps not. Handy to have around? Sure. Just don’t expect it to solve life’s bigger problems—or unclog the metaphorical drains of your soul.

Firstly note that this bottle has two usages as per the guidelines on the bottle. I used one on my drain in the bathtub and one in the sink in the bathroom. For the bathtub, it worked wonderful and there hasn’t been any problem since. However, for my bathroom sink, it only worked for a very brief period of time. I did further investigating and cleaned out the sink myself and it was BAD.
So, if you have a really bad clog, either use the whole bottle, or just clean it out first (probably should do the latter). Although this works extremely well for minor clogs and can indeed be used in basically every drain in the typical house or apartment.
