I have mature (50+) skin. I started using Dr. Song’s glycolic wash after my regular brand reformulated their GA face wash. No regrets. It exfoliates gently without causing irritation, and keeps dull skin cells at bay for a glowing skin. Results are noticeable after first use, and it will actually show if you stop using it.

In my case, it’s gentle enough to be used daily (I leave it on 30 seconds for maximum benefits), right before my Vit. C serum and moisturizing serum.

At 10% GA, it doubles as a glycolic acid mask. The consistency is actually perfect for that, and the ingredients are clean enough, with the addition of aloe to avoid overdrying skin.

On a side note, I noticed that it helps with ingrown hair. No more tweezing troubles!

I purchased both Dr. Song’s facial and body wash due to cystic acne. I’ve only had the washes for about 2 days, but I must say that I have noticed that I have not been breaking out on my arms, chest, or back, and the facial wash has reduced the roughness of my skin. I have Rosacea as well, so I have to be very careful what washes I use on my skin, and it outperforms any other wash that claims to be friendly for sensitive skin. I have tried so many different types of body washes, but every time I tried something new, I would get a new crop of pimples on my upper arms and all over my back. I have noticed that not only have I not had new pimples, but it has actually reduced the acne that was already there. With other facial washes, I have noticed that it strips my natural moisture from my skin and my face would overcompensate and be excessively oily by the end of the day, but not with this facial wash. I am pleasantly surprised and hope to see continued improvement.

My only constructive feedback would be the bottle packaging- I have had so much trouble trying to get both pumps to work. Thinking it was something I was doing, I had my boyfriend try to twist the pump head on both of the bottles so that it will spring up and allow me to start pumping, but to no avail. I adapted by twisting off the entire lid and pouring the amount I need in the palm of my hands, but it’s nice to have that pump head to give you an exact amount every time.

The first time I used this cleanser, I knew it was going to be a winner. My skin is very textured as a result of clogged pores so I decided since nothing else was working I would try a glycolic acid product. I found this on Amazon and between the fact that glycolic acid was the second ingredient and the price was more than reasonable, I decided to try it. After the first wash, I didn’t pat my skin dry but used a cloth to rub and was a bit surprised and impressed with the dead skin cells that were removed. After the second wash, I pat my skin dry and used my pointer and middle finger to gently stretch my skin forcing tiny dots of sebum that had been broken down by the glycolic acid to become visible. I wiped these off with a cloth and repeated the process until all the sebum was removed and followed with a moisturizer. I repeated that process for nights 3-7 and can honestly say that the improvement in the texture of my skin is unbelievable. Some of the less clogged areas are barely visible while the real problem spots are much smoother. The only real issue I had with the product was the spout which would not open no matter how many times I turned it or how hard I pressed down as I did. I ended up having to take the whole thing off to access the product. The only other issue, which is really only wishful thinking, is that I wish it came in a larger size in spite of the fact that a little seems to go a long way and the 4oz will probably last a good while using it only once a day. I highly recommend this product. You’d be hard-pressed to find another product of equal or equivalent quality for the price point.

I have oily skin and am addicted to anything that helps it feel smooth. I decided to try this because using more glycolic acid can’t possibly hurt, right? LOL. This facial cleanser is perfect for helping achieve that.

The cleanser comes in a small 4oz pump bottle. It’s not very much, but you don’t need much for your skin either. It’s a gel and the consistency is watery. It has a pleasant citrus scent. By itself, I can’t see this cleaning anyone’s skin of oil, makeup, or dirt.

As I mentioned before, my skin is oily. To maximize the potential of this cleanser, I wash with a hypoallergenic cleanser first. That way my skin is oil free and ready for this cleanser. Then I rub this one into my skin for about a minute, then use a facial spin brush with a silicone brush attachment for another 1-2 minutes.

The spin brush is important because it helps massage the cleanser into the pores and helps the skin absorb the glycolic acid better. I do this with the prewash too. The result is a warming sensation when I first rub this cleanser into my skin. This is how you know it’s working. I do this 1-2x a week.

The result is the softest skin you’ve ever had. It is drying, even for oily skin, so if you have dry skin already, you’ll definitely want to use a moisturizer afterwards. For me, hyaluronic acid is enough to add moisture back.

Now let’s talk about what this doesn’t do. It’s not going to peel your skin. It’s not going to reduce lines or wrinkles. It may or may not shrink your pores depending on how big they are to begin with. It’s not the best choice for acne either.

So why use it then? Because of all the chemical exfoliation products I’ve tried, this one is the best. It will definitely aid in keeping your pores clean. It does prompt skin renewal. It helps even out skin texture. It’s good stuff. Just don’t expect it to work miracles.

I’ve used this product religiously for about two years. But the last 3 times I’ve gotten it, the formula has been different. Once it smelled so strongly of tea tree it was difficult to tolerate. Now the formula I have this month is white instead of clear and has caused contact dermatitis. I’m moving to a different product. Too bad 🙁 it worked amazingly for a long time.
