When I first received and used this Vital Hydra Solution by Dr. Jart, I thought it was okay. It’s consistency is very light and watery and it has a pleasant scent. It did not absorb as readily as other lightweight moisturizers but I used more than a pea sized portion for each side of my face so I might have over done it a bit.
It’s been over 30 minutes and my skin still feels a bit tacky from this cream. I am wondering if it is having a difficult time absorbing due to the silicones in it. This Hydro Plump Water Cream have some very nice hydrating ingredients like betaine, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, pentavitin and niacinamide. All great for hydrating, smoothing, and protecting the skin.
What it also has is vinyl dimethicone and phenyl trimethicone. These are synthetic silicones that are put in skin care products to help the product spread easier. They also give the skin a velvety soft look and can make the skin look smoother. Another reason they’ve used is because they form a barrier on the skin to keep moisture in… They have a high molecular weight so literally cannot be absorbed and leave a film on the skin. Problem for some is that this barrier also keeps in bacteria, which can lead to breakouts or other issues.
Aside from that the main reason I do not like silicone based ingredients is that they are bad for the environment. Vinyl dimethicone is a microplastic that is non-biodegradable. It is also toxic to marine life.
For those reasons I will not use products with silicones in them and cannot recommend those products to others.

✅ Absorbs well and you don’t need a lot, this tub should last a while. Feels more gel/lightweight but works like cream, great balance
✅ Works great for added glow, doesn’t even feel greasy
✅ Maintains moisture 12 hrs + without a problem
✅ No fragrance that I can smell
✅ Reasonable price for quality/brand name Korean skincare
✅ I use the night mask, this is way better and probably works amazing together. I am glowing and plump with moisture 💦

i have not used anything from the dr jart brand before ordering this and one other product, but i’ve definitely been seeing their brand and their products all over for a while now. i have plenty of moisturizers that i really love already, but something about this one stood out to me. perhaps it’s the packaging, or perhaps it’s the brand reputation, but i’m glad that i ordered it. it really does leave my face with a nice glow, and leaves my skin perfectly hydrated.

Korean brand moisturizer! Fairly expensive in stores so buying it in store was somewhat worth it. Dr. Jart makes amazing products. The cream smoothes out my face and leaves it nice and glowing. It does not feel too greasy. it is just right for my skin. I have not broken out with this either. Great lotion!
