I’m not sure which element of this bothers me or that it’s just the combination because I’ve taken most of these things alone or in other preparations. But after really giving it a try at least six different times and also allowing a couple of other family members to try it we all came to the same conclusion. It does initially help us to fall asleep a little, but between the overly vivid dreams and waking in the middle of the night feeling unrested and a little anxious it’s just not worth it. I really wanted this to work. I’ll be tossing the rest down the drain.

I am not particularly sensitive to any medications or supplements, but the two times I have taken this, I’ve woken about an hour to hour and a half later with raging nausea. It puts me to sleep but also upsets my stomach horribly. I took two ass suggested the first night, then one the second night. Same outcome. I don’t know if sleep is worth it is I feel like I’m going to vomit it the night…

Reviewing: Doctor’s Best Superior Sleep with Sensoril, Formula Contains Ashwagandha, 5-HTP, L-Theanine
In our household, getting enough sleep is a major aspiration. I’m a chronic insomniac, probably related to my autism-spectrum wiring; and my wife tends toward the ADHD pattern; she hates to be asleep because she doesn’t want to miss anything, but hates the way she feels with insufficient sleep. As do I.
This means we’ve tried a number of sleep aids over the years, and we’re always up for trying another one. I have purchased other products from “Doctor’s Best” brand in the past because they often have better prices while seemingly having very good quality on many meds. It certainly is a known brand to us, shopping on Amazon.
That said, we haven’t noticed any dramatic change in our sleep since using these. Our experiments continue – my wife keeps a written journal on sleep supplements taken and correlates it with amount of sleep.
This product suggests taking 2 capsules, which makes this container a month’s supply. That does supply 5mg melatonin, which many doctors have said is too high a dose, since the amount created in 24 hours by the human pineal gland is only about 1/3 of a mg. But if you tolerate the higher dose, it’s also said that it may provide some anti-viral boost by helping your immune system, so that’s a consideration these days, particularly for older people like us who do NOT want to become virus statistics.
Personally I tend to find that anything over about 1mg of melatonin just gives me odd dreams and frequent wakings; my wife seems to tolerate a higher dose. So these have become “her” meds, as even just taking one gave me 2.5mg. As for the 5-HTP, Theanine, and GABA, these are all supplements we have tried. The Sensoril Ashwagandha, that’s the variable we’re testing. So far, nothing that seems statistically significant. Due to the high melatonin content I can’t take a full dose of it, and my wife can’t tell yet.
So our experiments with it continue, and I’ll update this review as warranted if our results change.
I can say that the product appears to be high quality, that I generally trust this brand, and the current price of about 21 bucks for a month’s supply is about right IF the product helps you sleep. But odds are only you will be able to determine that. Good luck.

Two of these babies 1/2 hour before bedtime help me to relax, fall asleep and stay asleep. However sometimes in early morning hours if I awaken, I’ll take one more. Perfectly natural, no grogginess. I like the combination of ingredients. Melatonin relaxes the body and the L-Theanine relaxes the mind. Formerly I took them separately. After taking Superior Sleep, get comfortable in bed and close your eyes.
Now, as your breath in count your breath in and count your breath out. Focus entirely on your breathing while you do it.
You are going to count to 20 and back down and then back up again until you fall asleep.
Say “Breathing in 1” as you breath in
“Breathing out 1” as you breath out
When you get to 20 count backwards
“Breathing in 19, breathing out 19” all the way back to 1 and then back up again.
While you are counting your breaths, thoughts, stress, anxiety, etc, will pop into your head. Don’t try to get rid of the thoughts and don’t try to solve whatever it is the thoughts bring up. Just take each though in your head and imagine it is a balloon and watch it float away. Just keep doing that with every thought that interrupts your counting. If you lose count just start over. Don’t get down on yourself, but if you do, just let that thought float away too. This isn’t a competition, it is just a way to help yourself let go of the thoughts that keep you awake. If you go down chasing a thought and thinking through how to solve it and realize you have, then just watch it float away.
Do this every night even if you aren’t having trouble going to sleep. You will find it to be a rewarding process as you learn to let go of your thoughts and still your mind. You will sleep better and faster.
I promise that Superior Sleep in combination with this technique will make your sleep fast and deep, but you just have to dedicate yourself to practicing this ritual every night.
