I own several infrared light therapy devices but not one this small. I currently have a bite blister in my mouth that won’t go away so I ordered the Infrared Red Light Therapy Device. The red light device was easy to put together and it was ready to use right out of the box, I didn’t have to charge it. I put the light in on my bite blister for about 4 minutes. I do think some of the fluid has dissipated which is encouraging. The aching is almost completely gone. I plan to keep this device in my work bag so I can use the red light therapy as needed on the go. It works really well.

These red-light therapy devices seem to be becoming more and more popular. I have tested many and I think there is something to it. They do seem to work on inflammation and reduce pain in my joints, so I figured this one was worthy of testing. First off let me say that this is a good-looking, well-made unit that fits nicely into a zippered travel case. Just join the 2-pieces and charge it with the included c-type cable. There are two different wavelengths you can set it to, but please read the instructions and I would also recommend watching some videos on how to use this first. Having a canker sore or cold sore really sucks and I have no luck with creams so this could really be useful when I need it. Luckily, I do not at the moment, lol. All in all, I am really starting to believe in the power of red-light therapy and this device is well made and should prove to be a great addition to my medicine cabinet.

I’m a bit new to red light therapy but I loved the idea of having it in the comfort of your own home. It’s very portable and easy to charge. So far I haven’t felt the effects of using it on minor aches but I’ll definitely update when I have a good test site that really aches or is inflamed lol. It says that it’s for all over your body aches and pains so that’s a plus as well. I’m not sure I would pay so much for it though.

I don’t know if this actually works since it keeps shutting off on its own.
It is annoying, at first I thought I didn’t charge it properly, however after charging it for a day I realized the problem wasn’t the charge.

I conveniently had a cold sore pop up when this arrived. I thought it was perfect timing. For the past several years I have been getting small cold sores that almost don’t even bother me. I rarely would take medicine for them.
So when this arrived I thought I would only use this light, 2 times a day like it said. I would do a few minute sessions 2 times a day as the box instructed.y cold sore ended up being the worst one I had in years )don’t know if it was from the machine) and took over a week to heal.

Having experimented with several different LED devices, I still can’t say for sure whether or not they helped relieve my pain. For the purposes of this review, however, I am going to assume that infrared light therapy works. And if it works, this gadget is awesome! Not only do I get very occasional cold sores (once or twice a year, usually), I also have an extremely sensitive mouth, and frequently have sores that are exacerbated by eating acidic foods and other conditions. Since I often have mouth pain, I was really looking forward to trying this device to see if it could help. And I think it does. I don’t feel any undeniable or immediate results while using it, but it doesn’t promise them. Instead, it is recommended to use a red light device like this regularly to relieve pain. I try to use mine a few times a day when I am having trouble.
This device comes with a slim and well made case that holds a cleaning cloth, a charging cord, a charging adapter, and instructions, as well as the device itself. The light is made of two pieces. They are easy to put together and taken apart, and the case has a soft, molded structure to hold the two pieces. Operation is pretty simple and allows you to choose between “Normal Power” and “High Power”. Both modes include an auto shut-off feature that turns the device off after one minute. I usually turn it on again to use it for another round. I don’t know if that’s recommended or not, but that’s what I do.
So…does it work? I can’t say definitively. I feel like it does help lessen the pain and duration of a mouth sore, but I haven’t had a lot of luck with a recent cold sore. But I would definitely reach for this before trying yet another ridiculously priced drugstore remedy. And since it’s so easy to use, there’s no harm in trying it, except for the fact that it’s pretty expensive. Considering its high price ($160 when I ordered it, but $70 now), I do kind of wish it had an attachment or some way of widening its application possibilities, but because the light lens is so small, it can only be used on very small sores. Still, I have been surprised at how much I actually use it, and how well it seems to work. It charges quickly and holds a charge for a long time, and it’s lightweight and comfortable to hold, so it’s very easy to use. If you can afford it, I’d say it might be worth a try.

I had never used any type of red-light therapy before but saw this and thought with the number of cold sores that my son gets, it’s probably a good idea to have something like this around to help him with healing because his are always very large and painful on his lip! Low an behold, when I received this product, I had the start of a cold sore coming in. I immediately busted this out to give it a try, I just used the lower setting because it was just starting and held it over the spot on my lip where I felt the distinctive tingle and did this for a few days and a cold sore never did emerge. Now I suppose it is possible that there wasn’t a cold sore coming in but anyone who gets them knows they always start out with a distinctive tingle in that spot and that’s exactly what I felt. The description makes it seem as though this could be used just about anywhere for RLT but I would say only if whatever you trying to accomplish is a very small spot. The light is painless, and almost soothing in a sense. No burning or uncomfortable feeling at all. Just a small amount of warmth. I would recommend this to someone who gets frequent cold sores, as there are many in my house who do. It’s a great tool to keep around!
