This works wonders for my daughter’s hair! I spray a little bit in her hair and I’m able to work all of her tangles out. It doesn’t leave her hair feeling sticky like some other products have. It seems to be healthy for her hair and it makes me happy using it. I also love the vanilla scent! It smells so good!! Thank you for this wonderful product!

This review is for Proudly Defining Detangler & Refresher by Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade, Black & Brown Babies Coils, Curls & Waves, Detangling & Conditioning Spray, Sweet Vanilla, 6 oz. This product was tried on adult hair, although targeted at children. This detangler has a fairly thick consistency and is milky white in color. The scent is a pleasant, sweet smelling, slightly fruity vanilla scent. The scent did not linger after hair dried. The spray pump worked fine to dispense the detangler in bursts. The product worked okay as a detangler and left the hair soft with some slip/silkiness but also somewhat lifeless and slightly dirty looking. The hair was scrunched while still wet but once dried, there were not defined curls/waves as the bottle said and the hair seemed to straighten on its own. This product seemed to be a detangler with minimal leave-in conditioner properties; the product name does not mention conditioning, but describes it as a “detangler and refresher”. It seemed gentle and did not cause irritation to the scalp. It may work differently on other types and textures of hair.

I couldn’t put my finger on what this smells like. It’s super sweet. At first I thought cotton candy, then I got closer with cake. It finally hit me that this smells exactly like frosting. I’ve never smelt anything more like frosting in my life. The scent can be a bit much, but it’s not bad. It has a nice even spray if you’re not afraid to push firmly on the sprayer. If you don’t then you’ll have a weak and less even amount come out. It adds some moisture to the hair to help detangle it, but too much detangler can lead to some buildup. It works best when my hair is wet but still works dry. I like it.

I can’t stop smelling my daughters hair lol. It did a very nice job of detangling though I did use a lot, 20 sprays or so.

I have had knots issues in my hair for a while and this thing is magic! I only need to spray the knots a bit and the brush slides through it. I love it! Super worth and it smells great!

First this stuff smells edible… it’s such a wonderful scent. It does help hey tangles out.I don’t like it being tagged as “for melanated babies.” By trying to exclude a large portion of society by race, they were too stupid to realize that only a tiny fraction of people don’t produce melanin. It would have been better to target a particular hair type since this is a hair product.

My son has some curly hair that likes to tangle like there is no tomorrow! This has already helped with brushing out his curls, and makes it so it doesn’t tangle right back up after he uses this. The scent is pleasant and isn’t over powering. It is easy to use, and honestly does what it is supposed to. I recommend this to anyone that has untameable curls that like to tangle!
