Gourmet Chocolate: Blends ok. I have better results if I shake it and then let it sit in the fridge or on counter for a while. That also improves the flavor because otherwise it has a strange after taste that actually gives me a headache/makes me a bit nauseated. No idea why that is.
The protein response is definitely legit, though, so I just push through (and try to make it a habit to shake in advance!).
The chocolate bag I have is has one of those hook and loop style closurea which is a bit strange and some product is stuck between the hooks and loops but does allow me to seal the bag.
French Vanilla: Blends well. Flavor is pretty minimal. For money, as long as I feel like I’m actually ingesting protein, I’ll say it’s a win – I will update if it seems the vanilla is not as effective as the chocolate. UPDATE: definitely a solid recovery product so I will keep rolling with it. However, it is VERY FROTHY when you shake it so I add a bit of high quality lemon or orange flavored fish oil (since I need the omegas anyway) and that fixes both the froth issues and the lack of flavor issue.
The “zipper” part of the French Vanilla bag is a traditional plastic bag seal and it separated (or was already separated) when I first opened the bag. Living in FL humidity, this is less than ideal. I will likely transfer it to a container once my son finishes his current protein powder that is a different brand.

Most people talk about getting their protein from meat, fish, etc, but the truth is that most of us do not chew well enough to really get all the nutrition out of our meals. In addition, proteins tend to be thermolabile which means they get denatured and loose some efficacy when heated. So cooking your meat as we all do (for good reasons by the way) reduces the nutrient density. In addition, solid food is energetically expensive to digest and assimilate because your body actually has to work immensely hard to turn your steak or chicken breast into liquid form so that it can be absorbed. This is why most of us get tired after a large meal. Powdered protein gives you huge chunk of all the essential amino acids that your body needs already in liquid form which your body can easily assimilate without much work. Designer whey also includes vital minerals such as zinc, magnesium, and calcium that your bones and muscles need for continued maintenance and growth.
I recommend adding this product to a fruit and vegetable smoothie every morning as it gives you a much better chance of recovering faster after workouts, and the fruits and vegetables will surely boost the efficacy of your immune system. If you drink this with almond milk, it actually almost tastes like regular chocolate milk so you won’t have any problem gulping it down.
In summary, it is a great product for your health and vitality. Our wealth is in our health. If you are laid up sick or injured, you can’t make any money and/or do what you love… those two aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. While no one can guarantee full health, it is my humble opinion that spending a little cash on something like this that is proven to have health benefits is well worth the investment. It is not for men only… it would also be a great product for our lovely women too! Amazon does a stellar job of delivery as we have all come to expect. I hope this helps anyone who is interested.

Edit: Immediately after my initial review, the customer service team reached out to apologize for my experience and tell me they had already refunded the money for both purchases that I was unsatisfied with. I didn’t even have to contact them or ask them anything. I have since switched back to my favorite cookies and cream flavor from Designer Lite and will continue to buy it as long as it is available. Thank you for correcting the bad experience with great service.
I have been buying this brand of powder for several years now, specifically the cookies and cream designer lite. I have gotten many friends and coworkers hooked on it as well, it’s my absolute favorite! This is a trusted brand for me so I decided to check out some of their other products and order this one plus the toffee collagen… I’m not sure what the difference is but they both taste HORRENDOUS!!! I was honestly shocked because they nailed the flavor of the cookies and cream one but these ones are just intolerable for me. Very disappointed they are not returnable or atleast exchangeable for the cookies and cream one- I paid a lot of money for them.

We make shakes with this powder and almond milk, plus usually a frozen banana. It’s smooth, tastes good, packed with protein and I can’t tell it’s low in sugar. We’re sold!

I bought this product because I am dealing with major after workout fatigue. To a point that it will last a day or two. Last week it was three days. I bought this to drink after my workout to help with that issue. I don’t have a blender, so I just mixed this with a spoon and then I hand whisked for 20 seconds. First, everything devolved….no lumps, NO GRIT….amazing. First power I have ever bought with no gritty taste. I mixed it with milk for a bit more calories. Taste….well I bought the vanilla and I love it. Not sweet at all. I don’t like sweet drinks and this tastes like a mildly sweet milk. Love it. I will update in a few weeks and let you if this is helping with the post workout fatigue. So far, I’m impressed.
Second day….today day I did cardio….pretty intense workout. Afterwards, I was beat. I cut up a small banana, a few strawberries, mixed the powder with milk and poured it over the bananas and strawberries. Delicious and gave me tons of energy. Over all about a 300-400 cal after workout meal with about 30 protein, carbs n some fat from the milk for recovery. I’m loving it.
