I have been using this balm by DB for a week now on my back which is often sore in the morning. This has a very strong menthol smell to it but features excellent ingredients such as emu oil, arnica, ashwaganda, vitamin e, and birch. These are all suspended in shea butter which feels great on my skin and has a good moisturising effect on my back.
This takes a few minutes to settle in but after rubbing on my back, it feels less sore. I like menthol smelling products but if you hate menthol, this is definitely not for you. This contains emu oil so it is not vegan nd is not suitable for a vegan or vegetarian.
I would recommend this if you want a US-made balm meant for minor aches as it is effective.

Absorbs well into my skin and makes my joints feel a lot better. Doesn’t leave a greasy film once rubbed in well and scent is actually quite nice without being too overpowering.

I have only used it on some minor aches and pains so far and it does decrease the pain, not sure if it’s the product or the act of massaging the area. I am going to test it on my husband’s sore muscles when he gets home from travel for the true test. But wow does this have a strong scent. It’s not unpleasant, it’s very mentholy/mediciney, and it lingers, so I wouldn’t apply this before you’re heading out the door to any event… it will definitely interfere with any perfume or cologne you’ve applied and will advertise to others that you have applied a muscle cream. Oh, and the texture is not like the white creamy ones you are accustomed, it’s truly more like a translucent butter so make sure you keep it at room temperature. If your home is very warm it may even begin to melt a little.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this, but the listing intrigued me so I decided to give it a try.
This is a very thick… cream? It’s not exactly a cream. It feels almost like paraffin, but it does soften as you rub it in, and ends up getting absorbed nicely.
The smell is lovely– it’s slightly mentholated, but the lavender also comes through.
I applied this to a bug bite and it completely took the itchiness away. That surprised me! I don’t think that’s what it’s intended for, but it’s a nice side benefit!
I also applied it to some sore muscles after I worked out. Seems to have done its job there too.
Overall very pleased with this.

I put this on my legs and hip area after working all night before I go to bed to help me relax and take away the tiredness from walking and standing for 12 hours. The scent is very pleasing to me and I can use this and still combine with pain killers to try and get a good nights sleep.

I have some soreness and joint pain in my knees especially after a workout or long walk. I ordered this to help soothe the area. Even though the jar has a seal and is in a box, some of the product leaked out and was quite messy. It has a somewhat strong woodsy menthol scent but I found it ok. The texture is like a hard balm but easily breaks down when applying to the kin. I have used twice so far and haven’t noticed much of a difference. I will continue to use and hopefully see some benefits.

I have been using the on my knees regularly for a few days. The consistency arrived grainy and solid but melts easily for rubbing. I have not noticed much difference in knee pain from using this directly. Rubbing however helps and I am sure its ingredients are doing some good. There was not much warming sensation either. I gave it 4 stars since (1) it is an excellent medium for massaging. It provides a good slip without becoming too oily or peeling off. (2) It is pleasant fragrance so I can move out after using it without smelling too strong (3) It softens the skin. (4) it has excellent ingredients. Since it takes time to see the real effect, I will update after a few weeks of using this.

Since I have some joint pain that may or may not be due to arthritis I thought I’d best order this Sweet Birch Joint and Muscle Therapy (balm) by Desert Botanicals.
The first thing to know is, if you like root beer, you will love the fragrance of this product. That root beer scent is coming from the Sweet Birch oil in the formulation, now add in menthol, lavender, frankincense and some butteriness from the shea butter for a lovely, complex and captivating fragrance.
I have been using this preparation in the evenings at bedtime for my sore feet which are also very dry and itchy most of the time. The product is solid in the jar but once you scoop some out it quickly liquefies when massaging it into the skin. I have been using quite a bit of it and was surprised to discover that not only does it not feel greasy, it also fully absorbs after a few minutes.
I had high hopes for this preparation to alleviate the pain in my feet. After all it does contain sweet Birch, which is supposed to be able to soothe aching muscles, and arnica, which has been used for centuries as a pain reliever, but sadly it does not seem to have done much for my joint pain so far.
On a positive note, the swelling in my feet seems to have gone down and they aren’t feeling quite as itchy these days. I don’t know if the itching relief is due to the pain relieving properties or just by virtue of superior moisturizing, but I am thrilled that it is accomplishing something my normal moisturizer could not. I have only been using it for a few days so perhaps with continued use I will start to reap other benefits.
For now I am happy with my feet being so much softer and less itchy, Plus the fragrance makes the husband happy because it reminds him of the root beer floats of his youth. When I ordered this joint and muscle therapy it was selling for $14.99. Given that the ingredients are all natural, and it is made in the USA, I find that to be a very fair price.
