This is a well-formulated supplement. Each capsule provides 500mg curcumin, which is well beyond the typical turmeric/curcumin supplement which usually rely more on ground turmeric than the concentrated curcumin. It also includes 5mg of black pepper (Bioperine) to help ensure good bioavailability/uptake.
While turmeric supplements often list high potency levels, it’s the curcumin that is most effective for relieving inflammation pain. This has worked very well for me to help decrease the impact of arthritis, and does so without any of the side effects of prescription meds. It’s also an excellent value for a 90 capsule bottle. Five stars!

How I review turmeric/curcumin supplemental capsules:
First, since I already take this supplement, switching to a different brand does it keep the aches and pains away that my current supplement keeps away. Answer: yes, it does. I felt no back pain come back after switching.
Second, how does it stack up to my on hand brand. Answer: Very well. I take one extra pill but runs about the same milligrams over a day of use.
Third, does it contain black pepper for better absorption? yes. It contains Bioperine.
This supplement works well. It kept the aches and pains away.
Each capsule is 500 mg. It is to be taken 3x a day. A total of 1500 mg. Three a day. 90 capsules in a bottle. 30 day supply. The capsules are about the length of a quarter. This is very common with the capsules.

About five months ago, I was offered a free 90 count bottle of Bioactive Nutrients Curcumin with Black Pepper for review via the Amazon Vine Program, and I accepted.
I’ve been regularly taking curcumin for *at least* ten years, since I first read about it’s potential as an anti-inflammatory. I often change brands, as I’m looking for the best technology and value. Since October, 2017, I’ve been purchasing Doctor’s Best Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva, 500 mg. It seems to be a good product at a decent price compared to other brands. The Meriva formula is supposed to absorb better than the previous formula using BioPerine. But now, there are some new Curcumin kids on the block. Recently I tried Longvida Optimized Curcumin which supposedly has even better absorption and other benefits over Meriva. Does it? I cannot say. But here I am again, reviewing yet another curcumin supplement. This time, Nature’s Lab Turmeric Extract. But as in the past, I’m not really certain that it’s actually doing anything (positive) for my five decades old body.
As I’ve said with other Curcumin supplements I’ve reviewed in the past year, I cannot say that 1) I ever really noticed that Curcumin has done anything for me in the ten+ years I’ve been taking it, or that 2), this Bioactive Nutrients Curcumin with Black Pepper is any better or worse than the Doctor’s Best Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva or the Viva Naturals Curcumin C3 with BioPerine or the Longvida Optimized Curcumin I was taking just before this brand. I guess you can say that I take it on faith that all of this Curcumin I’ve been taking all these years is doing something useful. As far as it’s claims to improve joint health, I cannot say that my occasionally painful left knee, or any other part of me, feels any differently than it did before I started taking the Bioactive Nutrients Curcumin with Black Pepper just about five months ago. I will say that it is a little more expensive per capsule over the Doctor’s Best and it uses older BioPerine over Doctor’s Best Mervia. So when this bottle is finished, I will switch back to the Doctor’s Best Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva, 500 mg brand. It goes without saying that with all of these supplements, YMMV.

I purchased this product about March 10 2024 and when I received it it had an expiration date of April 2023 which is almost a year past the expiration date…You can purchase this expired product sometimes from bioactive nutrients for 10 dollars and the unexpired product at full price which is what i paid for the expired product..

This is a very fresh product. It smells wonderful! I am also glad to see that it has Black Pepper. The Pepper helps the Curcumin absorb into your body. It is also good to take a fish oil with this to get the ultimate benefits.
You only need to take 1 of these per day to reap the benefits of the tumeric (curcumin). This is a 3 month supply so it is a very good price. I take it in the morning, then I take another brand in the evening (Geronova Research with R-Lipoic Acid).
I have seen a big difference in body pain taking curcumin on a regular, long-term basis. This is one of my favorite brands!

I was recently told by my doctor that in addition to glucosamine chondroitin, I need to add turmeric supplements to my regimen.
I’ve been taking 3 per evening with my meal of a different brand, but thankfully I only need 2 of this BioActive Nutrients turmeric. While the serving size is list listed on the bottle as only 1, I know that I require more. The capsules are super easy to swallow, with no aftertaste.
I have recently ordered several supplements on Amazon and one thing I’ve noticed is that none of them say “Pharmaceutical grade,” which my store bought ones do.
That being said, my hands are the first to tell me if I’ve forgotten to take glucosamine chondroitin and turmeric supplements, mocking me with stiffness and joint pain.
What I have noticed with this is that my hands are silent…no complaints…no pain…so I’m getting enough turmeric from this supplement; and I’m very grateful. It’s $40 for 90 capsules which works out to 45 days for me. Almost a dollar a day is pricey, but it seems to be working.
If you’re looking for a turmeric supplement, you might want to consider this one.
