I have studied about Turmeric using many reliable sources and have no doubt it is one of the most amazing herbs as it reverses the dreadful and regarded as “incurable” Alzheimer’s disease (although it takes long time – about 12 months to reverse neurological damage and restore lost memory), kills cancer stem cells (radio- and chemo-therapy can’t do this), reduces symptoms of arthritis (due to its anti-inflammatory properties), gives better results in treating serious cases of depression than Prozac, helps to increase levels of glutathione (king of all antioxidants) in our body, and much more without any side effects! And all the mentioned above benefits of Turmeric are proved by scientific studies! So, knowing this I would be a fool if I don’t take this amazing herbal remedy on a regular basis either to treat diseases or prevent them.
Unfortunately, I don’t like the taste of ground Turmeric so I had to look for a reliable supplement that would contain it in a capsule form. There are many Turmeric formulas so it takes some time to choose the best one but eventually I decided to try this excellent product made by HealthAid which is regarded as one of the most reliable UK suppliers with long history. My choice was motivated by the fact that the HealthAid Curcumin 3 contains 10 times higher concentration of Curcumin (10:1) than regular ground Turmeric. In addition, also the potency and bioavailability of this product is much higher as it is standardised in its purest and concentrated form providing 95% of the three main active ingredients (called “curcuminoids”) – Curcumin, Demethoxycurcumin, and Bisdemethoxycurcumin (according to some studies all of them together work much better than curcumin alone). But that is still not the end of the story as this brilliant formula also contains Piperine extract (the active ingredient derived from black pepper) which according to researchers farther enhances the concentration and bioavailability (absorption) of curcumin and prevents it from being destroyed by the digestive enzymes. As a result much more Curcumin can be absorbed into the blood system and passes the blood-brain barrier for maximum effect.
Unfortunately, customers usually don’t care about those details but instead they mainly concentrate on the number of capsules and price, being at the same time deceived by tricky adverts such as “maximum potency” or “1 year supply”, without realising that those products offer very tiny daily doses and may not be even properly absorbed and effective. Most formulas contain only raw ground turmeric which is not standardised and may not contain sufficient levels of active ingredients in order to impose a noticeable beneficial effect.
But let me give you an example: There is turmeric supplement offered here on Amazon which seems to be very popular. It says “MAXIMUM POTENCY” and “1 YEAR SUPPLY”. The truth however is that it contains only 500mg of ground turmeric of unknown quality (not standardised). If you compare it with the amount used in different studies (usually at least equivalent of 3 to 6 teaspoons of fresh ground turmeric) you realise that since this supplement contains only 500mg of raw material per capsule (made of gelatine, by the way) you should actually take at least 3 capsules three times a day (9 caps per day) for therapeutic purposes! Therefore, even if this product contains 360 capsules it wouldn’t give you a year supply required active ingredients but probably only over one month supply! On the other hand, when you take into consideration the 10 x higher concentration, presence of Piperine, high potency and bioavailability of the HealthAid Curcumin-3 formula which contains 60 vegan capsules (free from gelatine) you will notice it is a better value for money as it will provide you the best quality Turmeric with almost two times longer (two months’) supply for a similar price.
As far as dosage is concerned, since the HealthAid Curcumin-3 is very potent, I wouldn’t take more than 1 capsule a day (before breakfast) unless you suffer from cancer as in this case I would increase to 3 times a day.
If you want to optimise the effect of Turmeric it is even better to use it together witch Chlorella, Alpha Lipoic acid, L-cysteine (or NAC), sublingual Methylcobalamin, Vitamin D3 and Magnesium citrate. You will see amazing results even faster. I myself take all of them and never felt better, healthier and more energised than now.

I love this product! I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees and this has helped tremendously. I have a busy and sometimes physical job and this keeps me going. I also get cortisone shots and hyalagen from my ortho doc, but adding this has made a big difference. I went from barely managing it to feeling not bad to pretty good most days. With OA you have good days and bad days, but overall I feel like this helps A LOT and I highly recommend it – and have already to several friends.

Although I cannot return- I cannot recommend any vitamin or food made in India or China. This was sourced from India. There is no FDA in either country. Many times are raw materials for our medicines are from these countries and are tainted. There was a 60 minutes program years ago, revealing this. Buyer beware.
