I have been using this daily lotion for over 2 years now and love it! Yes , it goes on like sunscreen at first ( white and a bit thick) but it soaks in quickly and makes my skin feel smooth and not greasy, pasty or sticky as some people here describe. Maybe they are using too much? It really only requires a small amount. I apply a drop to each cheek, forehead, nose and chin. I am a 49 year old skin cancer survivor so for me a high spectrum sunscreen moisturizer is important as well as for my age to help with keeping my skin smooth and youthful looking and it has really done that. I love and use all Burts Bees products and am really happy with them all, especially this one. There is really no scent after it is absorbed, or a very mild pleasant initial scent. I also love that their products are cruelty free, well priced and natural!

It works well, as long as you know what you are getting into before you buy it. I have relatively normal skin that tends to be slightly on the oily side in humid, hot weather, but dries out a lot in winter. So far I’ve only used this in winter, and I apply it every 2-3 days as needed. If my skin isn’t dried out, I don’t use it. I haven’t seen much effect on the few fine lines I have, but I’m also not using it as often as recommended. As a sunscreen, it is relatively thick and takes a few minutes to absorb. I prefer light lotions, but I have yet to find an option for a lighter one that still has sunscreen. The smell is more overpowering than anything else. It isn’t good, isn’t bad, it’s just in your face. Luckily it goes away fairly quickly and you forget about it, until the next time you put some lotion on.
Despite a fairly good review on my part, I probably wouldn’t buy it again, and would try to find something else better. Nothing that bad about it, but nothing that makes me jump up and down and want to come back either.

Background:
I have sensitive combination skin and I live in a desert climate that’s very dry and hot. SPF is extremely important to me in the spring and summer months but I have to be very careful of which skin care items I use as most SPF lotions cause me to break out. I’ve always had good luck with Burt’s Bees even compared to more expensive brands like Shiseido, Estee Lauder, and Lancome.
Pros:
– Great packaging. I love the pump and only need 1 – 2 pumps per day.
– It doesn’t break me out
– Very reasonable price
– SPF 30 means it blocks 97% of UVB rays which is great for every day use. Higher SPFs like SPF 75 or 100 don’t offer significantly more protection so SPF 30 was exactly what I wanted.
Cons:
– Pungent smell. Luckily, our noses function so that we stop smelling it after a while so I still use it. Nonetheless, It’s extremely unpleasant when I first put it on. It smells as if hibiscus and apples got dunked in a toxic chemical lab. I believe part of why it’s so strong smelling is to mask the smell of sunscreen but honestly, I prefer the smell of sunscreen to this. Whether or not you like/tolerate/hate the smell will vary from person to person of course. My boyfriend thinks it smells pleasant.
– It leaves a very sticky residue on my fingers but it doesn’t feel bad on my face. This issue is easily resolved by washing my hands right after application. As a quick reminder, you always want to put this on 10-15 minutes BEFORE you go outside or before you put your make up on.
Recommendation: I would recommend this to anyone wanting a little extra protection for their skin.
EDIT: I removed one star from my original review because one of my favorite aspects of this lotion, the pump, gets defective once you’re about 2/3 of the way done with this llotion. It bothers me enough that, along with the product’s other cons, I will not be repurchasing.

Tried many facial products out there, including Obagi and Oil of Olay. My needs are sensitive, light skin. Retionol products are very irritating to me. This facial lotion, is great! Skin already evened out, slight glow undertone, feels soft. Only issue is the odor. Very strong. Does not always sit right in my stomach after application, slightly overpowering. I assume, will get better, more i use it. Two pumps are all i need to cover face, and decolletage. Also use the Radiance eye cream, and the cotton night cream. All excellent products that noticeably work without the designer price tag and without having to go to the dermatologists office to buy it.

This eye cream is nothing like Burts Bees Radiance which is not available now. This has no staying power, disappears. Radiance was much more effective–loved it. Do not love this one–don’t waste your money.

I was used to eye serums like the Freeman Vita K Dark Circles one that had a tightening effect, and they discontinued it. I was also using a Vichy eye cream for years and didnt do anything for my undereyes. I dont have any undereye wrinkles but do have some hereditary bags. So I wanted something lightweight with a firming somewhat tacky texture to improve and maintain a firm look on my skin naturally (im 30 and never had botox). I also wanted a cream/serum I could use on the eyelids that does not irritate them because after makeup application& removal, my eyelids are very dry and every eye cream ive used on them has made them burn like crazy (even tho Ive been told to avoid using creams on the eyelids because it causes the skin to become loose- not sure if that’s true). I have dry sensitive skin.
This smells alot like a Korres product which is good, since Korres are natural (Im Greek I grew up using Korres creams since age 12, but theyre too pricey in the US). This eye cream doesnt burn my eyelids or undereye area – its actually the only product I have tried that didnt burn my eyelids! (Ive experimented with many) – and I did see my undereye skin getting tighter, looking more smooth after using it for 2+ weeks. My eyes look more rested than before, wayyy better than when I was 23-25. I also use it under concealer the days i wear makeup and the eye area stays hydrated (concealers tend to be drying on me at least after awhile).
