The collagen creamer has a deep, dark green color and requires some stirring as it is a thick and creamy paste. The finished drink is sweetened where the matcha flavor is present but surprisingly not as prominent as I had anticipated. This actually made sense why Matcha is the third listed ingredient after sugar. Each sip finished on a distinct astringent note. I found that when I used 8 ounces of water that it wasn’t as sweet but the matcha flavor was too muted. For me, 6 ounces of water was the ideal ratio when making a latte. This is an incredibly convenient way to be able to take collagen on the go. No more powder that can make a mess, no more measuring spoons, and no more trying to find the right sized container to take with me. I just need to take one packet and add hot or cold water. Actually pretty great. I’ve tried other collagen products before, and they can have this weird aftertaste. But with this, it’s just like a really smooth matcha latte. It’s not overly sweet, which is perfect for me since I prefer natural flavors over anything too sugary. In terms of texture, it blends nicely. Some creamers can be clumpy or leave that chalky residue at the bottom of your cup—not this one. It mixed right in, which I was happy about since I’m picky with that kind of thing. Now, I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and here’s where I noticed some subtle changes. My nails? Definitely less brittle. They’re not breaking as much, and I feel like they’re growing out stronger. My skin? Well, I don’t want to sound dramatic, but it does look a little brighter. This is actually surprisingly tasty. It dissolves quickly and easily. The taste is really nice. It doesn’t taste too strong like matcha because of the creaminess added to it. I really enjoy it and feel great taking it everyday.

I use a lot of collagen creamers in my coffee because I love getting the added health benefits of collagen while I’m making my morning coffee creamy and delicious. I enjoy some matcha drinks, so I thought I would give this product a try to make myself a matcha latte. Imagine my surprise when I opened a packet and instead of a light green, milky creamer inside, there was just… dark green slime? I was SO confused, I just stared at it, completely perplexed. I eventually decided to bite the bullet and squeeze the thick, gelatinous paste into my coffee in hopes it would turn the nice light green of the photos, but alas… it did not. I bravely took a sip, and it… was not good. That was the point at which I examined the box more closely and saw the green stuff was meant to be mixed with water. This is not creamer. Don’t put it in your coffee unless you want your morning to start off as confusing as mine did. I have no idea why this is advertised as creamer. It’s just a matcha drink mix. (Combined with water, it has an okay flavor, but the slimy paste is really hard to dissolve and for me it kind of just settled at the bottom of the glass in a lump no matter how long I stirred it.)

I enjoy matcha tea so I wanted to try this with collagen added. I didn’t have to add sugar because it’s already in there along with milk. Each box comes with 12 condensed liquid packs, just add water. The instructions say to add 4-8 oz of either hot or cold water. The liquid packs are very thick & gooey. I found it harder to mix with room temperature water. It’s easier to mix with hot water. Once mixed, its a creamy, sweet matcha latte. To me, the taste is chalky. I can taste the matcha, but it doesn’t taste great.
These have 110 calories per serving. I drink a lot of tea, which has no calories, so I’m not crazy about adding an additional 110 liquid calories to my diet. Also, I know matcha has caffeine and I could not find how much caffeine is in this. I like to keep track of my caffeine intake, so it would be useful to have that information.
