I purchased this product to use during radiation for breast cancer. I had 4 weeks of daily radiation treatments. My Radiologist’s nurse and one of my Oncology nurses reviewed the ingredients and approved the use of the product. I began using it a couple of days before radiation began and used almost two jars through the middle of week three of daily treatments, applying it 3-4x a day after thoroughly washing my treatment area with mild soap and water. By then, I had a pretty bad rash with a few small blisters. Knowing no one to compare with, I wasn’t sure if my skin reaction was “normal” while undergoing radiation or if I was having a reaction to one or more of the natural oils in the product. So, at the end of week three, I switched to another product commonly recommended by Radiologists, and my rash began clearing up about a week after treatments ended – that is where I am now. I liked many things about Phys Assist Oncology cream – the cooling effect, the scent, the light consistency which penetrated my skin and didn’t leave a sticky residue that rubs off on clothing, bedding, etc. I plan to try it again once my rash is entirely cleared up.

I bought this for my mother who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August of 2020, she went through Chemo and then when we met with her Oncologist and Radiologist they said they advise buying a couple different products (2-3) to have on hand to try out incase she gots burns or blisters from the treatments. They have her one as well that they said worked for some of their patients. I did my research on different products and found in a lot of cancer support forums out there many people recommended this cream! So I ordered it and it arrived right as she began her radiation treatments. She had to go through 6 weeks of radiation (every day for 6 weeks). The first 4 weeks she was OKAY. I mean as okay as you could expect right? Well.. by the end of week 4 you could tell her skin was getting BRIGHT red. It looked like your skin would if you had a REALLY bad sunburn. She said it felt like it was on fire! I felt so bad. She used this cream and she said it gave her immediate relief! It burned for maybe 10-15 seconds and then it totally numbed her skin! By the end of her radiation, which just ended March 1st, my mother had 3rd degree burns with blistering around the burns. It’s not a pretty sight at all. She can barely shower without excruciating pain, and even so is uncomfortable because she can only tolerate ice cold water hitting the burns. She has RX ordered bandages (Mepilex Transfers) that I help her change 3 times a day and she applies this cream every time we change it. If the pain is very bad she’ll apply it in between dressing changes as well. Her skin looks SO SORE and beat red. I mean it’s actual burns, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, and it’s heartbreaking seeing my mother suffer through this. However, this cream has brought her some SERIOUSLY NEEDED relief. Thank you so those of you who made this cream! It’s made my mothers battle with breast cancer a little more tolerable.

Used this product through out my radiation treatment and it worked amazingly. Radiation Nurse and Doctor were surprised about the results of this product since I did not have any burning or dark tanning of my skin which occurs during radiation. I did receive some redness and slight tanning but using this cream three times per day kept it to a minimum. After my radiation treatment was complete, the Radiation Doctor and Surgeon did their check ups and recommended I keep using this cream until my next exam in 6 months. This cream has also helped to repair the surgical stitching quicker. Sorry no pictures, I had breast cancer. I would highly recommend this cream.

Love this cream!! Using this for post radiation burns on my breast & armpit lymphnode area & it has helped tremendously! First of all, I started using this in the start of my 3rd of 4 weeks of radiation therapy & my skin was burned, but not as bad as it got after my 4th & final weeks & after. The cooling effect & ease of the cream has been really helpful & easy, especially on battered & blistered skin. Truly a little goes a long way, you really don’t need much of this which I can appreciate as prior to this I was using a calendula cream that was more like a paste that tugged on application & needed quite a bit just to cover my breast & armpit area.
This cream will last quite awhile & wish I’d found it prior to starting radiation. It smells a little minty, which does aid in the cooling application, it easily spreads & doesn’t tug at the skin & lasts on the skin quite a while, which keeps my skin moisturized, which I love. This jar could easily last several applications per day for 4+ weeks of radiation therapy & I’d highly recommend getting it!
