The Allcoovita Chews, each suppling 2.5g of Creatine, allow for a relatively handy means of incremental dosing; they can be cut in half, quarters, or what have you. All of the creatine powders I’ve used are provided with a scoop approximating a 5g dosage, so that decreasing the dosage is done by the inexact method of estimating a percentage of a scoop. There isn’t much danger in taking more creatine than needed, since the body will evacuate any excess in the urine, but it’s wasteful. An often generally accepted recommended dosage is 5g/day, and the suggestion by Allcoovita of two 2.5g (2500mg) chews per day reflects that, however once a user is fully creatine “loaded,” weight and degree of activity become a factor. In other words, 5g is necessarily suitable for everyone.
Another reason I find the “chew” form convenient is as a means of supplementing the creatine powder I add to my smoothies. On days I can’t get around to making a smoothie, I can just pop two of the Allcoovita Chews and I have my creatine for the day. Quick, easy, hassle-free dosing.
There are many opinions about the efficacy of creatine, but I’ve found that it does in fact make for fuller musculature and increases endurance. The idea is to saturate the muscles with as much creatine as they’ll retain, then continue to take just enough to maintain a net zero level of repletion/depletion, with 5g/day being a basic, generic dosage. So, back to Allcoovitas 2.5gr of creatine per chew: for my size and weight 1.2 gummies per day is plenty. The body also gets creatine from other sources, such as chicken, red meat and fish. Creatine is also naturally produced in the body from the amino acids glycine and arginine.
In addition to creatine, the Allcoovita Creatine Chews also provide L-taurine, betaine anhydrous, Alpha GPC and vitamin B12. L-taurine and betaine anhydrous, both thought to increase athletic performance, also contribute to heart health. Alpha GPC may increase athletic performance, and is also nootropic, benefiting brain health. What the Allcoovita chews don’t contain is sugar, making them ideal for those that have eliminated it from their diet.
Each of the chews is individually wrapped; in chewiness, texture, density and flavor the chews are very reminiscent of the candy Starburst. They are pleasant tasting and convenient to consume and store. With their individual wrapping, they can be thrown in a pocket of gym bag.
