I have mixed feelings about this lip mask. I love overnight lip masks and have tried a few from a few different brands. I definitely like this one but I also feel like it’s not the best I’ve ever tried for a couple of reasons.
The scent on this is very strong. It smells very sweet and buttery almost like cookie dough. Even the texture almost looks like cookie dough. It’s a very yummy scent my only problem is that when I’m trying to sleep it was a little overwhelmingly sweet. That very well could just be a me issue since I’m very sensitive to smells but I thought I would mention it for anyone who has similar issues.
When it comes to actually using the product I put a thin layer of this lip mask on before bed and by the time I woke up and started getting ready for my day like 8-9 hours later, the lip mask still hadn’t fully absorbed. There was still a waxy film on my lips and I had to clean it off. I’ve never really had that happen so I thought it was a bit odd but not a huge deal.
The reason that I’m giving this lip mask four stars instead of three though is that it works really well. My lips looked so soft and nice after using it. And not just for a couple hours and then you need lip balm. I felt like there was an actual difference in the softness of my lips. If this came in a different scent that was maybe a bit less sweet and strong I would definitely consider purchasing it again.

This lip mask has a slightly thinner and more “melty” texture than some others I’ve used. It smells like maple syrup to me. It isn’t sticky at all and is easy to apply. My lips feel softer and more hydrated after I use it. It’s best for me for daytime use but is thick enough you can leave it on overnight in a heavier layer too.

The smell of this, was just too much for me. Usually I LOVE the brown sugar smell…but in much smaller doses. This lip mask simply had too much fragrance in it. It is thick, and stays thick, instead of absorbing well into my lips. The tub is on the smaller side, and at $36, I feel this is a bit overpriced. Designer or not. I’ll stick to my tried and true $5 drugstore stuff.

This Colleen Rothschild Butter Lip Mask is a very well presented product! There has been so much detail placed in the entire product, from packaging to the product itself.
The packaging is beautifully designed and I can read everything on the box and the glass jar. The packaging makes this a very gift-able product the way it is delivered. The lip mask itself is so hydrating! When you open the jar, it is completely filled to the top of the jar. As soon as you dip your finger into the product you can feel how rich and hydrating it is. It goes on your lips smoothly, you only need a very very small amount for your lips so this jar is going to last a long time, even if you use this a lip gloss and not just as a night-time mask. It is easy to put too much on and you can feel the shea butter and wax. The flavor is very rich and long lasting for this product. I have used this more as a lip moisturizer and it lasts a long time and hydrates my lips well. When I used it overnight my lips still were nice and soft the next morning.
I am going to enjoying using this lip mask for a long time! I would recommend this product!
