    Although I was hopeful that this product would aid me in finding relief in my cold sore pain. Unfortunately, it did not suffice. In fact, it did the opposite. This product burns your lips upon application and it also over the course of 1 hour stained the applied area of my lips blue. This product is unfortunately not one that I would recommend unless you enjoy looking like a Smurf as well as experiencing a burning sensation that doesn’t cease until you wash your face with water and soap.

    A lot of Amazon products do not work as advertised, but this stuff is as close to a miracle product as I’ve ever seen.

    Applied this to the cold sore on Day 2 (blister was just starting to rupture). This stuff scabbed the sore overnight, it fell off the next morning, and by the end of Day 4, was almost totally gone. Usually a cold sore lasts 7-10 days, and this clearly cut that into half. Will be interested to see what happens when applied earlier.

    Be warned – all the reviews about what happens are true. This stuff BURNS. It’s at least 20 minutes of searing pain (I applied a Compeed/Mederma patch to cover, which helped). The scab also turns an alarming shade of blue/grey, which is normal, so I recommend using before bed). The next day though, after the scab peeled, it was not even noticeable. If you can handle the pain, it is totally worth it.

    It turned my lip a black and blue color which made it a million times more noticeable- almost like burnt skin. Do not buy!!!

    This product does keep cold sores from developing further once you apply it. You have to dedicate more time than the prescribed time for the application to work. So, instead of 30 seconds, I usually apply it and hold it there for a good two minutes.

    This product does not cure cold sores, but it has reduced the frequency that I get them. I keep spare applications so I can use them as soon as I feel that familiar tingle.

    The main issue I have with this product is that it is twice the price of competitive products, and I am on a fixed budget so getting this product is a treat for me.

    Not only did it not work, but I swear it made it worse. Go with Burt’s Bees Rapid Relief instead… This other stuff is garbage!

    First it does nothing, turns your affected area blue, and can only use it like three times can’t return, can’t get your money back. Do not buy. Stick with abreva, or Herpecin.
