I got this because I take collagen for the benefits it may possibly have with skin, hair and nails. And what really stood out to me with this product was the addition of the orthosilicic acid. It’s essentially a hydrated form of silicon. As babies there is great deal of silica( a compound made of silicon and oxygen) and very little calcium found and as we get older this reverses. Think of calcium as being hard and Silica as being soft and stretchy. Silica in our bodies may possibly help with the formation of collagen and elastin. And elastin is the part most people forget about imo. It’s what gives skin the ability to stretch and have strength and elasticity. Orthosilicic Acid is a smaller compound derived from silica and possibly assisting my body to produce more elastin and that’s why I really like this product.
With collagen we usually start losing it in our late 20’s possibly but thankfully it’s thought by supplementing with it we may be able to offset that. It’s an extremely slow process imo where you look for improvements every 3 to 6 months imo. I really like the Hyaluronic acid that was added to this as it’s thought of being kinda like the glue that holds the skin together. The collagen in this is in a “Health Beauty Complex” and unfortunately we don’t know what types were used and how much of each one is in this. Some collagen types are thought to possibly be more beneficial to the skin than others which is why I prefer knowing the type(s) utilized. I didn’t see where this was third party lab tested but it’s rare that I do with collagen powder with it being such a basic ingredient imo. This is stating with one scoop to be around 11 grams in total weight. On my very accurate scale (see my 50 gram test weight pic) I am coming in at a little over 13 grams filling the scooper that came with this up to the fill line on it. So with mine it actually has more than what is claimed which is impressive imo. Especially seeing how most collagen powders weigh less from my experience due to shipping making them less compact from when it was manufactured. This has no flavor the way I like it and I put it in my coffee and had no problems. I had no sides with this and very happy to know that I may possibly be benefitting my elastin production with the orthosilicic acid in this as well as my collagen. I am not an expert on any of this type of nutrition product. I just really wanted the hair skin and nails benefits. I think I get as good a benefit from this one than any other I have tried. I liked the idea of a neutral flavor but it is not flavorless like I had expected. I wanted to add it to juice so the slight flavor was not an issue for me but It might be some someone who wanted to add it to something different. I really enjoy how well the product dissolves in not a huge amount of liquid.

I wanted this because I add collagen to my coffee but sometimes I want collagen just mixed into water. The flavor of this is very mild to where it doesn’t impart a cranberry flavor to my coffee, and is just barely flavored when added to plain water. I get more of the normal collagen flavor than I do cranberry. Overall it’s fine, but it’s definitely overpriced for what it is.

I’ve had a lot of products like this, collagen with the same supporting nutrients. I don’t know what makes this special, but it does seem like a quality product and it does have a very pretty label.
I also appreciate that the flavoring is very mild. I have an issue with heavy sweeteners, dyes , flavorings, etc. This is barely sweet, if at all. Unflavored would be ideal though, because you would have more options of liquid to mix it in (juice, etc).

This seems to work just fine. I really wish it was flavorless because I like to add these types of powders to my morning coffee. This you could definitely taste a sweet berry taste to it. It did dissolve quickly. I also tried this in just water. It’s not my favorite but it seems to work good enough. It would probably be great in smoothies. That will be my next thing to try.

This is a review for Essential Nutrition brand Collagen Skin – Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides for Women, Protein Powder with Hyaluronic Acid – Collagen for Skin, Hair & Nails – Neutral Flavor – 11.9oz – 30 Servings. At time of review the 30 day supply equals about $1.65 per serving. I’ve been using this powder for about a week, these are my observations. I take a collagen powder daily in my coffee, it is my criteria that the powder disolve, not have ANY flavor and even better no added smell to my coffee. It’s a strong drink, that shouldn’t be too hard. I paused my normal collagen to take this powder. It does live up to my standards, disolves easily, no taste and no smell as a bonus. I cannt speak to long term use but the added hyaluronic and biotin are bonuses per the beauty industry will be good for skin health as well. The only gripe I might have is the measuring cup, it’s unusual in that it has a line that is below the top of the cup for the serving size. I’m used to a dose being just to fill the cup. I do appreciate that I don’t spill this one since it’s below the line but it’s just a little more work to get the right dosing (fill, then shake shake until it hits the line right). Not a huge deal so I did not take off a star, just unusual.

I’m always looking for a very high quality and tasty collagen supplement, so when I saw this I had to try it right away. This collagen has a very good consistency when mixed into juice or smoothies, I haven’t tried it in plain water, but it dissolves nicely in everything else that I’ve put it in. The flavor is really enjoyable as well, I admit this is the first cranberry flavored collagen I’ve ever had, and I definitely like it. It goes down easily, the taste is good and not offensive at all, and I haven’t experienced any unpleasant effects whatsoever. I realize it’ll take time to determine how well it works, but just from my experience with taking it daily for the past couple of weeks I feel that it is a high quality supplement and I will most likely continue taking it as part of my regular collagen routine.
