Review: FARMSTAY, Cica Facial Wash Bubble Mask, 20 pcs
This is a cleanser that comes in individually packed one-time use sachets. The idea is that you apply this to the skin, once it interacts with your skin and the air, it starts to bubble. I could actually feel the bubbles forming. It’s a quick 3-minute mask while you let the bubbles soften your skin. you can gently massage to loosen any residue and wash off and do your regular night routine. A couple of things I noticed: it does not remove makeup so I had already oil cleansed and washed off. I used this bubble mask as the second cleansing. Because it foams up, it gently lathers the rest of your skin and removes any oil residue.
NOTE: Because I couldn’t apply this to my eyes, I only rubbed it all over my face when I was ready to wash it off (basically how I would normally use a cleanser rubbing it all over my face, including on and around my eyes).

This facial cleanser was a very interesting experience. I have never washed my face quite like this. The first thing you should know about this cleanser is that it is a gel that comes out of a foil pack (with a very hard to open serrated top, I ended up using scissors to cut open). Then you put it on your face and suddenly it begins to foam up exactly like an aerosol shaving cream. It foams on your face – avoid your eyes! and then it starts to tingle a little and after a few minutes, you just wash it away with warm water. It definitely is way too much product in one pouch. I had a slightly scary moment where I was washing it off and it covered my eyes in thick foam and felt like it wasn’t going to come off easily, but I persisted and kept rubbing my hands and tons of water into my face. It came clean and my face certainly looked and felt clean. I wanted to check and see how much dead skin cells and oil were not cleansed away, so I took an exfoliating cotton pad with some witch hazel on it, and swiped it all over my face. Of course, the pad was dirty afterwards. Maybe the bubble mask helped to loosen some of that dirt and dead skin cells, I don’t know. But either way, afterwards my face felt very tight and dry, not really feeling the delivery of hydration as listed, so I followed up with moisturizer and my face felt great. I looked up the main ingredient: Centella Asiatica, and it is merely a type of Pennywort plant that has lots of other medicinal uses that are bonafide, so I think that checks out as safe and beneficial. I liked the bubble mask, wouldn’t endeavor to use it daily though because there was a bit of a struggle, but for the most part would probably indulge maybe once a week or every two weeks.

This would be an AMAZING thing to bring out at a slumber party, I would have loved this as a teen. Little packs with tear off tops filled with cleanser, just massage onto your face and wait for the magic to happen (it happens FAST). It foams up and has the consistency of shaving cream. It even sounds like shaving cream (if you’ve ever had it on your face or close to your ears, you’ll recognize that sound). The first time I used this I didn’t do a great job in rinsing and my skin felt very tight after, the next time I used a damp washcloth to rinse my face and my skin felt really nice afterward – so definitely make sure you give a good rinse.

One tip: make sure you use the entire packet at once or your will burst the bubbles when putting on the second swipe. Work quickly, the bubbles start appearing almost immediately after applying to your face. I put about 3/4ths of the packet on my face before trying to apply the last little bit and my face was already starting to bubble. I think I may have popped a lot of the first set of bubbles when applying the second set.
There was a slight tingly sensation which was fun.
The directions said to massage/rub in the bubbles after a few minutes before rinsing off. This was the least enjoyable part. It was like smearing thick slime over my face. It did not spread well-and was unpleasantly sticky when trying to move it around. I would maybe recommend doing this part in the shower. I’ve started putting it on while I’m getting ready for my shower and by the time the water heats up, it is time to spread around. I will use wet hands to help give it a bit of moisture. That helped tons.
