I have rosacea and I sometimes hate the summer months because of the constant battle between having adequate sun protection plus some kind of makeup/coverage to mask the underlying redness of my skin. Over the years I’ve become more accepting of just foregoing makeup application so long as I can keep the rosacea under control (which is the main reason I wear foundation anyways). I was hoping that this sunscreen would be a big game changer for me. In some ways it was: the tint was perfect and did not appear too dark on my fair skin, and also didn’t make me look ghost-like. In fact, upon first application I was in love! However as sweat began to accumulate on my skin (after being outside in the heat/humidity), it was like the tint and sunscreen separated and it left my skin looking pasty and the sweat beaded up differently on my skin, which made it all too noticeable. I also did not think about how the tint would come off on my towel when I dabbed my face off (but I should have known that was going to happen Anyways). As far as the skin protection, this sunscreen did its job and I did not burn, even after sweating and wiping off most of the product without re-applying. But after I got out into the sun and humidity (ie Florida in July) it left my face looking very strange, almost as if I had applied a liquid foundation or something on my face that was about 2-3 shades too light for my skin tone/-looking way worse than it had when I had first applied it that day.

I found out a few weeks ago that these come in different shades. And that made me very happy. I’m fair skin, and the light looks really good and natural on me. I’ve worn it once and I was very happy. I would definitely buy it again, and I would recommend it.

I apply a light moisturizer and this sunscreen, then, if I’m going someplace that day, I’ll add a foundation with more coverage. This has just enough coverage to blur some unevenness, but not enough to really cover anything. I love that there is no white cast at all, and the consistency is really nice – easy to spread, but not runny or greasy.
BUT, like many other reviewers, I really dislike the packaging. I always end up getting 3x more than I need out of the tube because of the large dispensing opening with the way-too-big lip around it. The lip also holds a lot of excess product, so it gets caked-up and messier and messier with each use. I’d love to see CeraVe totally revamp the tube!
NB –
CeraVe Mineral Sunscreen applies evenly without white marks. It gives good coverage for my Caucasian medium skin tone. I’ve been wearing it daily for swimming, paddleboarding, gardening and going to yoga. My skin is sensitive and I’ve had no irritation from this sunscreen. Like all CeraVe products it’s unscented. It performs as well as many high end sunscreens for less than half the price.
The only thing I don’t like about this sunscreen is that it goes on wet looking. An hour later my face still looks wet and shiny. I feel this makes me look sweaty. I will continue to use this tube of sunscreen but won’t buy again. The dewey look is currently popular. For those that like the dewey look, this sunscreen is a great value.

I love the la roche posay sunscreen, but don’t love the price. So I switch to cerave and have not looked back! Even when i was swimming in the ocean and other parts of me burned, my face barely got any color. To the point my coworkers joked that I must not have even gone on vacation because my face was so pale.
This is my everyday sunscreen. Its lightweight and doest feel greasy. Bonus is it has a slight tint to it, so I sometimes only put a littlw powder foundation over top and am good to go!

I try to use sun block daily and my biggest complaint is the thick, paste feel and look after application of even the more expensive sun blocks with color. Cera Ve soaks into my skin and leaves protection and a natural color behind.

This is a tinted sunscreen that looks nice. I suffer from melasma so definitely use a sunscreen daily. This is the one I wear on no make up days, like for hiking or at the beach. It has enough tint that it hides my melasma but does not look thick or caked. Once absorbed it stays on pretty well. I must wash my hands carefully after applying as it transfers easily and I have seen it transferred to beach towels and clothing. It has always washed out easily, but I think this is not a good choice for daily use and certainly not under makeup. It’s what I use instead of makeup, while protecting and hiding dark spots. The color is supposed to be universal and works well for my medium fair skin. I believe it also comes in one other darker shade.

I absolutely love this sun cream. I don’t necessarily wear a lot of makeup, but this sun cream leaves your skin nicely moisturised with a hint of tan.

I really like this product. Seems kind of oily when you first put it on, but it settles down nicely and has a semi matte quality. This is not full coverage but great for a no makeup look. Softens redness and better than nothing at all. Just gives your complexion a smoother look. Also, I noticed people didn’t notice there are 3 shades available. I’m light to medium cool and got the medium and it’s great! No orange cast or pilling.
