I was spectical about taking them. I began to drink them because I am diagnosed with hypothyroidism and although I have not been able to loose weight in almost 15 years now. I lost 5lbs with these. And although visually I’m obese. I feel slightly lighter. I would recommend…they are doing something good.

I share information on all of my vitamins and supplements with my primary care doctor and I advise everyone to do the same. I research every supplement I take and explore the potential of any adverse interactions between the supplements and between those and my prescription medicines. Because results can vary from person to person and the FDA does not evaluate supplements, it is difficult to review them. But here goes.
I have been drinking a liver detox herbal tea at least one evening a week over the past eight years. I don’t necessarily know if doing so has any harmful effect but I have not experienced any and my annual lab tests show a healthy liver function. When I saw these liver detox capsules on Amazon, I decided to order them to compare the ingredients with those in my tea.
The main ingredient in both the tea and capsules is dandelion root (organic in the tea). There is 600 mg of dandelion root per serving of tea; two of the capsules combined contain 370 mg.
And they both contain milk thistle seed. That’s where the similarities end, perhaps because of they way they are taken. Tea must taste good, and capsules simply shouldn’t taste bad.
The tea contains a variety of organic ingredients from lemon peel to peppermint leaf, lemongrass leaf, ginger root, licorice root and rose hip fruit. I suspect these are all for adding flavor to the tea with little support for detoxing. The tea is pleasant, with a noticeable licorice and grassy taste.
In contrast, the capsules contain artichoke leaf and stem along with dandelion root and milk thistle. The taste is neutral. The bottle contains 90 gelatin capsules (no indication of the source of the gelatin), and recommends two capsules with meals once or twice a day. There are 20 bags of tea in the box I have. Taking just two capsules of the liver detox blend will last 45 days, or only about 22 days if four are taken each day. I will likely continue drinking my tea and taking the capsules every other day.
Other things I look at in considering the efficacy of any supplement are the manufacturer and the expiration date. The capsules are manufactured by Carlyle Nutritionals in New York State; it’s a brand I have seen on my local health food store but I have not tried it before. The expiration date on the bottle is 11/2025. The tea is also American-made under the brand Lifestyle Awareness of California. The bags should be good through 08/2024.
As I said, I can’t and won’t say whether a supplement works or not as it depends on personal experience. And one can’t say too much about a product that is not independently tested and verified. But as long as I feel healthy, these capsules may be a contributing factor.

First off, I want to point out that the label on the bottle that I received does not match the label that is being shown in the phone here on Amazon. My label says Liver Cleanse & Detox while the label in the photos say Liver Care Support Formula. It’s not that big of a deal since the ingredients appear to be the same but it’s still worth mentioning.
The bottle came with cellophane wrapping on the outside and the inner seal was intact to ensure it hasn’t been tampered with. I really like this style of lid. The capsules are easy to ingest with no bitter after taste. They recommend taking 2 capsules 1-2 times per day preferably with a meal. You get 90 capsules in this bottle so if you take 2 capsules once per day that will give you a 45 day supply, but if you take 2 capsules twice per day, then you only get less than 23 days of supply. I think this is priced very reasonably so it’s a good value.
