I bought this Vitamin D supplement based on the recommendation from the my son’s doctor (it was one of the options on a short list). After some research I found that this had the best reviews so I decided to purchase it. My son is healthy and doing well so I think the drops are working in terms of him getting the needed vitamins. In terms of the ease of use, I actually prefer this bottle because it measures one drop exactly. I saw a lot of reviews that it takes a long time for the drop to come out; and I agree with that but for us it works out great. We bottle feed our son so we give the drop either with his milk or if he needs gripe water so we really don’t care that it takes about 5 seconds for the single drop to come out. We know that we are giving the right amount of Vitamin D so we are happy with this product.

In the past, we’ve purchased Enfamil D-Vi-Sol (and Poly-Vi-Sol) from local stores. The were out of the D-Vi-Sol last visit, so we checked Amazon. After finding the D-Vi-Sol, I noticed this product and was impressed with the reviews and value (the bottle contains 365 servings vs. 50 servings in D-Vi-Sol). Everything the other reviewers say is true. It’s much easier to get our 19 mo toddler to consume these since they’re only one drop per serving and are tasteless. I was amazed to find how much other stuff is in the Enfamil vitamin! This one just contains an oil plus the vitamin D. Anyway, if your child needs a vitamin D supplement, I’d strongly recommend this one—we’ve been converted.
*Update 9/2/12*: I’ve found that “Thorne Research Vitamin D/K2” is a superior product to this in many ways. The Thorne product has 4x as much Vitamin D for less than double the price; it is easier to dispense (squeeze a dropper rather than waiting for drops to come out); and, it includes Vitamin K2 which is safe in any amount, and prevents negative effects of too much Vitamin D.

I’ve been giving this to my daughter for over 6 months now and hands down, this brand is the BEST VITAMIN D DROPS ON THE MARKET! One drop is all you need, you can put it on baby’s bottle or your nipple right before you start breastfeeding or you can add a drop right to your child’s milk. I add it right on the nipple of her morning bottle of breastmilk and she doesn’t notice it at all. These drops are tasteless and odorless and unlike many other infant vitamin D suppliments, these drops have NEVER given my daughter gas or constipation. While some have complained that it’s difficult to dispense, I’ve never had an issue. All I do is invert the bottle and as soon as I see a drop just starting to form, I tilt it to avoid any extra from escaping. I’m halfway through the bottle and for anyone wondering if this small bottle will last an entire year, TRUST ME, it will! I’ve brought this in to my pediatrician and now he ONLY recommends this brand to his other patients.
Amazon has the best price on the market for these drops and if you have a Prime membership, you’ll save even more with free shipping. Don’t bother using the other brands on the market, they are filled with more chemicals than needed, they cause many babies gas and constipation, and frankly, you’ll be spending more money replacing them. Carlson Labs is known for their great quality and the higher price for these drops are well worth the cost of avoiding any gastric discomfort your baby might get with a cheaper brand. I can’t say it enough, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the purchased of these infant drops for your baby!

You get a lot of Vitamin D for your money. The drops are odorless and pretty much tasteless. I tried it myself. It is very difficult to get a drop out into a babies mouth, but if you are putting a drop into a bottle it should be no problem.
To get the drop out you have to hold the bottle with the cap off upside down. It will SLOWLY form a drop and dispense on its own. It forms a perfect drop every time. As soon as you get that drop out, quickly turn bottle right side up. My wife is breast feeding and drops a single drop daily onto her nipple before feeding. It is impossible to get a drop into a 6 month old who constantly moves.
We had tried Enfamil drops, but that has a lot of filler and is fake sweet. This is so much cheaper and better in terms of value. The box with Kids and Babies printed on the it are the same. The company figures Kids won’t take anything that says “Babies” so they have 2 packaging.

Carlson for Kid’s Vitamin D3 drops for Infants 400 IU D3 per drop is an excellent product! This bottle has 365 drops, or one year’s worth of Vitamin D3. It is intended for ALL infants initially, breast fed or formula fed. Formula fed infants who take 32 oz of formula per day (when they are older) no longer need to take any. Breast fed infants should take a drop a day as long as mom is breast feeding. This product is made with either coconut or palm oil; this makes it very easily digestible for infants. It is a great value compared to other products: $15 for a year’s worth of baby D3 vs $25 to 30 every45 days. As a health professional, I have recommended this product for years. HIGHLY recommended.

My daughter refused to drink milk after she went off her bottle, and obviously needs more Vitamin D than you can get from a yogurt in the morning. These drops are fantastic! Totally tasteless on food (I put a drop in a spoonful of her yogurt), and one drop is a full daily dose of Vitamin D. It’s almost too good to be true, especially considering the Enfamil drops are very bitter and nasty tasting.
Several reviewers have complained about the dispenser, as only one drop can come out at a time, and it takes 3-5 seconds of holding the bottle upside-down to get that drop out. But if you are adding a drop to food it’s not a problem. Since they have no taste I can’t imagine trying to pin my daughter down with her mouth open to give her one drop of vitamins! Just put a drop on a piece of toast or in yogurt or whatever and you are done. Very, very easy!
As long as my little girl refuses milk, I’ll keep these drops in the house!
