I love this product, and I recommend to all of my patients at Sunflower Wellness Center in Santa Fe, NM. It is super-concentrated, so one only has to take several drops to get a nice big dose, and since most people are Vit D deficient, that is what I typically recommend! (Do not exceed 10K/day without a health care practitioner’s consult, as you can definitely get too much!)
I had a patient recently whose Vit D level tested at 19 (optimal is 70-90); after just 2.5 months of 10 drops per day of these 4,000IU drops, her level is now 57. Very absorbable, very effective, no flavor so it’s easy to take.
The only drawback is that the dropper on these bottles is not at all cooperative – I always recommend my patients take off the plastic dropper insert and just use a squeeze-dropper to measure out and take their daily dose.

This is a great brand. Since it’s liquid your body absorbs it much better. I was severely out of range with my vitamin d and this got it back up and then done very quick. Easy to take.

My review is mainly a review of vitamin D rather than this specific product. I will say though that the dropper is slow like everyone says. I’ve counted thirty seconds at times before a drop comes out. It’s usually around 10 seconds though. I drop it right on my tongue and it barely tastes like anything (has a pleasant taste).
My doctor said I was very deficient in D so I started taking this. I strongly believe it has vastly improved my memory. I don’t know what else I can attribute it to – I hadn’t changed anything else. For the last several years, I seriously felt like the guy in Memento. If I didn’t write something down (like a to-do task), it would slip away moments later. I’d have trouble remembering names of friends we hadn’t seen in a while. I seriously started to feel impaired – it definitely wasn’t normal. But then very recently, I suddenly started to notice a huge memory improvement and I felt sharper. I told my wife and she asked what I’d been doing differently. The only thing was I’d started taking vitamin D about a week prior. She started googling and found it was thought to help prevent Alzheimer’s. Google “vitamin D memory”.
It’s really bizarre to have such a sudden dramatic shift in my memory. It’s like a fog has lifted and I’m instantly recalling names of acquaintances I haven’t thought of for 10 years. It’s such a relief to have my memory back.

The vit-D oil is a decent product, but…
This is several dollars more than if I had bought in person from my local retailer.
Carlson changed the little nipple where the droplets are supposed to come out some time ago. It is a bad design, but it may be, that was it’s purpose. Unless you remove that plastic top, you will leave a significant portion of the oil in the jar when you are done with it.
I am looking for another brand. The nipple that’s supposed to let the droplets out is so bad!

I’ve been using these drops for years and they saved me from having to get expensive dental work. I was deficient in vitamin D because I was spending too much time inside (skin converts sun into vitamin D) and wasn’t getting enough from food related sources to make up for it. It’s true that a lot of dairy is now fortified with this vitamin but it’s not nearly enough. You NEED high levels of vitamin D to absorb calcium properly.
After about a month of use I noticed that my transparent teeth became a bright solid white again. A few pin head sized cavities were arrested and no longer growing but unfortunately too damaged to remineralize. Other spots remineralized and went back to being normal tooth. All my tooth sensitivity also went away. I also noticed a huge increase in energy and my mood became more positive. It essentially cured my years long depression which was a result of vitamin deficiency rather than a chemical imbalance.
For such a cheap product you really can’t go wrong here. Soy free, gluten free and it will do so much good for your body. The gravity dropper is also really precise but don’t make the mistake of shaking it. Just turn it upside down, hold it straight, wait a few seconds and a drop should come out. When it’s nearly empty it can take 30-60 seconds to get a drop which sorta sucks but I prefer accuracy of doses over speed. Especially at a high dose like this where getting too many extra drops could harm your health.

This is a nice strong dose. It is probably better for those who are slightly deficient, than for those with an already healthy level. 4,000 IU is a lot if you don’t need it. That said, my doctor said that as soon as you feel that you are getting sick to take a high dose of vitamin D (like 10,000 IU for an adult, half that for a child) and it will help prevent an illness. It has worked for us so far.
Now, those are some higher doses and you do have to be careful if you are going to take this long term. Vitamin D is fat soluble and will not be washed out in your urine, like vitamin C. Taking too much for a long period can lead to calcium deposits in soft tissues. One or two days (like when you are getting ill) should be fine. But, of course, always consult your doctor about this.
If you are deficient (you can request a test from your Doctor) this is a good product to use. There is no taste and you only need to take a 1 or 2 drops. Fast and painless.
The bottle is pretty small, so it is easy to take along with you if needed.
