I got my cat back after his I-131 radiation treatment for hyperthyroidism, and I had a couple of different meds to give him. It was super annoying because the pills were so small. They would fall out of the pill shooter or get stuck. I originally got these pill pockets but found them to be a bit bigger than needed. I ultimately switched to size 4 and size 5. I use size 5 for just one of the meds and size 4 when I need to give both. They fit perfectly in the pill shooter and come out on the first try. I can control better where it goes and get it right down his throat rather than on the side where it would end up in his cheeks and be spit out later. I think they also help to mask the taste of the meds, so he doesn’t hold it in his mouth as long, wanting to spit it out. He swallows it right away. I can’t recommend these enough. They are perfect for my situation and budget-friendly. My only mistake was getting the clear ones instead of a variety of colors. The clear ones were easy to miss if he happened to spit one out. Having multiple colors helped me use a different color for each med and another for when both are in one. Still giving these the full 5 stars even though they weren’t what I needed. That was my fault, and the smaller sizes from this same company were exactly what I needed. I’ll find something else to use these for 🙂

I have a cat who needs 1/4 of a 250mg Metronidazole tablet 2x per day to treat IBD. The tablet is very crumbly, so rarely splits evenly, even with a good pill cutter. According to both my veterinarian and my cat, the pill is very bitter.
These gelatin capsules slide ride down my cat’s throat, and it is easier for me to end up with capsules with closer to equal doses.
The Amazon description pages of the various capsule sizes is terrific. Dimensions and photos are shown, as well as a chart stating that volume of medication each capsule holds. Capsule sizes are like wire; the higher the number the smaller the capsule.
I recommend starting with a 100 capsule pack to check for size.

These capsules have greatly simplified the process of giving my dog his medications that are in tablet form. He has chronic pancreatitis and diabetes so I can’t hide his pills in anything except his prescription dog food. He spits out even the tiniest pieces of his pills. He takes 6 different medications, 4 of which are tablets. I cut the tablets into small pieces and put the pieces in the capsule. They snap together so they don’t come apart unless you overfill them.

After ordering 3 different sized pills I finally got the perfect one for my needs!!! DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID BY THINKING THAT THE 00 & 0 & 000 WERE SMALLER BC THATS NOT THE CASE!! 5 is tiny, 3 & 4 are close to the same and perfect for my needs and 0, 00, & 000 are the largest ones. I make my son’s meds daily and these are not too big or too small…just right!! He doesn’t have any complaints about swallowing them and they store well too. This is my 100% honest review as I do not have any affiliation with this or any company! May u have a blessed day today and all other days after as well!
