I have been taking Pure magnesium potassium citrate for years. At my last visit with my urologist, he recommended this product as being specifically developed for people like me who like to grow large stones constantly. I replace my old supplement with this and two weeks later I had chest pressure, high blood pressure and a general “weird” feeling. I saw my family doctor and she put me on blood pressure med and told me I had to see my cardiologist. In the meantime my wife and I discussed what had changed in that period and I realized that starting the stone stopper was the only change. I took the bottle with me to the cardiologist appointment. She read the label and saw the amount of potassium and sodium and told me to immediately stop it. The potassium was causing hyperkalemia and interfering with electrical heart rhythms and the sodium was causing water retention that was creating the feeling of chest pressure. I stopped the supplement and the symptoms went away within a week. USE WITH CAUTION!!!

The two biggest advantages of Moonstone are (1) No prescription required and (2) their capsules are easy to swallow unlike the prescription large potassium citrate pills. My urologist, a kidney stone specialist, says Moonstone works as well as the prescription pills.

This product, if working properly, will have no effects. Meaning it is supposed to stop kidney stones. Tough to measure the absence. Will it last 1 year? Two? Ten?

I have had several kidney stones over the past 7 years. I have had five shock wave lithotripsy treatments in that time period. The have all been calcium oxalate stones. I started taking Urocit -K tablets two years ago and have only had one small stone last summer that I was able to pass without lithotripsy. I think the Urocit helped, but I no longer have insurance, so I switched to these moonstone tablets since they contain potassium citrate and other citrates and are supposed to help prevent stone formation like Urocit does. I’ve been hoping these will do the trick, especially since the out of pocket on another lithotripsy would be tens of thousands. Even with insurance, I paid 4-5000 per treatment. So 30 dollars for a 40 day supply is not bad. I’d rather pay 300 for a years supply of this than pay 30000 for surgery. I will try to do an update in a few months to let you know if I’ve had any recurrences. Update :March 2022. No stones so far. I’m ordering a refill.
