For me, holy basil (tusli) helps relieve stress to some extent, but more importantly helps me sleep. I have found that not all holy basil supplements are the same and some work better than others (and yet some still don’t work at all). My go to for holy basil supplements has been Pure Mountain Botanicals as I find it works the best for me, so I will use that as my baseline when comparing to other supplements.
The holy basil from Double Wood Supplements is a brown powder in a small-ish capsule (smaller than any other holy basil I have taken and easy to swallow). It is 250 mg and the Pure Mountain is 450 mg. The pills come in a white plastic bottle that keeps them protected from light and fresh.
While the advertised quantity of holy basil is less in the Double Wood, it performs well enough and I think I would lean towards taking two a day as opposed to one (the suggested dose is one pill, once or twice a day, which is the same as the Pure Mountain). Some holy basil supplements have a smokey, almost BBQ, smell and flavor to them, are a darker color and I find those don’t work at all for me, but this one is is a lighter brown and has little smell or taste to them (similar to the Pure Mountain, but those have a slight, and pleasant, floral note to them). I would say that these work for me, but not as well as the Pure Mountain, but I would attribute that to the lower quantity as the affect seems diminished by an proportional amount.
The Double Wood holy basil supplement works for me and I find I am able to get better sleep taking it. Compared to the Pure Mountain, I think it is comparable with a lower dose and cheaper price. I think if I double up on the Double Wood supplement I can get a similar impact as that of a single Pure Mountain, so that would make the cost about the same. I think this supplement will become my number two and the closest I have ever come to one that matches Pure Mountain. I would recommend this holy basil supplement if you are looking for something that will help you relax and get some better sleep.

First the fine print: I am not a doctor and my comments below should take that into account .
Holy Basil (called Tulsi in India) is essentially a smaller relative of the Basil plant and this version is grown mainly in india. The sceintific name of the plant is Ocimum sanctum. These leaves tend to be much smaller and cannot be cooked because it becomes bitter upon cooking. The medicinal properties of this plant are well-known and therefore used in the Indian system of medicine called Ayurveda . So much so that the plant is literally worshipped (as in temples) for its medicinal qualities. The medicinal properties are varied and this leaf when consumed in full has several claimed benefits including Antimicrobial (including antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-cataract, and as anti-inflammatory medicine . One of those benefits is as a calming agent . Now, these benefits are all attributed to the fresh leaves and this makes Tulsi a difficult plant to convert to a medicine that can be stored .
This particular formulation aims to tap into the benefits of Tulsi by using a dry powder version. Because this is US made and has the right certifications to back it, we have a higher confidence in the potency of the dose.
My own experience :
As a rational person, I first wanted to ascertain that this is Tulsi indeed (whose taste I know from my own personal experience). By tasting the contents of the capsule (it is bitter so be careful), I could taste the tulsi basil flavor, so that passed my own taste test. I took the pills at the rate of once a day (250 mg dosage). A couple of positive effects were noted after about 5 days: lowering of blood pressure and an improved sense of well being. So based on this experience , I can endorse this formulation as effective. Obviously , you should consult your wellness professional before taking it.
I give it 5 *s based on my personal experience and results .

Tried this product because of the price but it definitely does not work as well as other brands I have used. I can’t feel a difference at all. Don’t waste your money buy from someone else, it’s cheap for a reason.
