This product works for me. Besides the many reputed effects of nopal cactus, it also helps to alleviate hangovers the following day when I take the capsules 30 to 60 minutes before I start drinking. That in and of itself justifies this product as far as I am concerned. In addition, this product is made in a GMP facility and is lab tested, which helps to reassure me that I am using a quality, reliable product.

I’ve never taken Prickly Pear before but it seemed like a nice addition to my current supplement regime. I was specifically interested in the gut health/weight loss benefits. Sanar seems to be a trustworthy and established brand, so I have no safety concerns. I haven’t seen any remarkably noticeable results (good or bad), but my stomach tolerates it well. I did take a star for the GRAS ingredient. I’m not used to seeing that in the label of my supplements and “Generally Regarded As Safe” doesn’t instill a ton of confidence. It was fairly priced for the amount of the product received.

So I found these easy to take and nice healthy natural ingredients, however they don’t help enough to avoid gas and GI issues from legumes and proteins for me. I had to still take digestive enzymes with it. I’m sure they help and will still use them but not as effective as the regular enzymes for me.

The size of the pill makes it easy to swallow. It has no taste or after taste. The smell is tolerable and hardly noticeable.
As precaution make sure ingredients of the products do not affect you. I have not had any negative effects during consumption but some of the ingredients seem like a filler more than part of Nopal extract.

I ordered these Sanar Nopal Cactus fiber supplements to help restore my gut after taking antibiotics for recent dental surgery. ( I am also taking probiotics and eating a lot of yogurt!)
The good news:
* Made in USA in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices Facility)
* Lab Tested (By whom? a 3rd party or???)
* Imported and domestic ingredients (non GMO?)
* Company address and website on the bottle
Questionable:
* No info if the facility is FDA approved
* In addition to Nopal, there are fillers and GRAS ingredients (Generally Recognized as Safe.) GRAS ingredients are not subject to FDA pre-market approval, but have undergone scientific safety evaluations. With the fillers, it seems like there must be a very small amount of Nopal per capsule.
I’ve only taken it twice, so I can’t comment on the efficacy as yet – I’ll get back to you on that! Thank you.

as this supplement does not include other nutrients this can be added to any supplement regime as a prebiotic fiber supplement, which is how I plan to use it, as I don’t consume cactus on the regular otherwise.
