With 4 kids, I try to avoid unnecessary baby gadgets. Life is just simpler without a ton of stuff. However, our recent newborn developed a diaper rash that would NOT go away, and since newborns go ALL.THE.TIME. (him even more than normal newborns, IMO), we were changing 15+ diapers a day, trying different creams (including prescription) over the course of a week. Getting diaper cream all over our fingers was getting old VERY quickly. I honestly needed a filler for free next day shipping (for another diaper cream to try) and this popped up, so we bought it. It’s actually been more useful then I ever thought! I apply the cream to the flat part or dip/scoop some from the jar before I start changing baby, the suction end keeps it out of the way until needed, the flexible flat part ensures the cream spreads evenly (and quickly) over baby’s bottom (and if you have a baby boy you’ll especially appreciate this), and then the suction end keeps it out of the way until I’m done changing baby. Quick diaper wipe to clean it off. I love the included container to keep the travel one separated in the diaper bag. I usually buy diapers and cream as baby shower gifts (not as exciting but ALWAYS appreciated) and will likely start including one of these with it.
…and if you’re wondering about baby’s rash, it was an allergy rash, so it quickly went away on its own after moving to a special formula.

I actually purchased this item (Baby Bum brush & mini) for a friend who is expecting, because I LOVE mine! This is a must-item and I would HIGHLY recommend to any new parent(s)!! The brush is really great for getting in the crease of your babies’ bottom, without getting anything on you! The suction on the base of the brush is great, because I can sit it down after applying and I don’t have to worry about making a mess, and then i just wipe off any excess cream/ointment with a baby wipe! IT IS GREAT!! and I wish I had thought about the mini one for my little one! (perfect for the diaper bag!)

These little brushese work like a charm. Easy to clean with a wet wipe. Easy and flexible to apply the diaper cream. The first time I applied diaper cream with my hand and tried to wash it off with soap and water, I realized I was doing it wrong. These little brushes are the perfect applicator and are gentle on our little guy’s behind. Great product!

Even thought a spatula isn’t a must have I do find it very helpful. It helps get into all the hard to reach areas while baby is moving. The suction part doesn’t work on wood tables but the spatula still stands.
