This is pure agmatine, a supplement similar to l-arginine but with more bio-availability that is therefore more effective. When the product arrived it was very clumpy and the bag would not reseal. You should plan on the same, as this happens naturally and the powder is prone to getting stuck in the grooves of the ziplock. I just transferred it into a jar and that was a great choice since it also gives me the ability to just shake the jar to break up the clumps and allows you to measure your servings more easily.
In terms of taste, this is incredibly bitter. I mix it in apple juice and it then tastes like lemon juice. However, clumpy or not, this dissolves entirely and leaves no visual trace.
In terms of effectiveness, it’s great. It’s very powerful too, so you need to dose it properly. Too much can lead to low blood pressure due to the fact that it is an extremely effective vasodialator.

Bulk Supps Review: Company and products seems very legit and good.
Agmatine Sulfate Review: This is a extremely interesting and powerful supplement. I am a professional supplement taker. Lol no joke. I also am extremely sensitive to things I ingest and have a keen sense of sensations and effects within my body. I have taken my own blend of “pump up pills” with very good success for years. These work very good for workouts and sex. I can assurely say that argmatine gives even better pumps than my arginine/citrulline/ornithine combos. And for sex reasons it is ten times what Viagra is. This product does a thousand things. But the two I’m most excited about are the “pumps” and the pain killing effects it has. I’ve destroyed my body over the years working out. Specifically my knees and lower back. Before I take it my lower back nearly cripples me. Within 60 minutes of taking 500 to 1000 milligrams my pain is completely gone like it never was. This nerve blocking pain killer seems to work for about 10 hours per dose and does seem to build in the body. Each dose seems to work better and better. This stuff is easily on par with the big boys of the pain killing world. I would say it most closely seems to mimic the pain killing ability of anti depressants and antisezure meds (AKA Cymbalta and Lyrica and etc) Side Effects: The first few days it gave me a pretty good headache. The headache has seemed to go away now that I’m used to it. And it is giving me some pretty wicked farts. I don’t much mind this and it gives me some funny ammo towards my wife. Phycological effects: It definitely does something up there in my head as I feel ever so slightly odd, but I can’t put my finger on yet how or what it makes me feel. EDIT: 4 days in now I can put my finger on it – generally like s***. Shaking, nauseous, like a hangover sort of. Maybe it will go away in time. In The meantime I will drop the dose significantly.

I have been supplementing with it for a few months and I’ve noticed the following benefits.
Increased muscle pumps. Dramatically increased, and it’s a long lasting effect that carries throughout the day.
Increased insulin sensitivity. My blood glucose levels drop quite nicely after a dose.
Decreased pain, especially the sciatica pain that originates in my low back/hip area.
Here are a couple studies highlighting the two most important things I have gained from supplementing with it, namely the reduced pain and increased glucose disposal.

Abstract
Agmatine, an endogenous ligand of imidazoline receptors, was employed to screen the effect on insulin resistance in rats induced by a diet containing 60% fructose. Single intravenous (i.v.) injection of agmatine sulfate for 30min decreased the plasma glucose concentrations in a dose-dependent manner from 0.5mg/kg to 3mg/kg in rats received 4-week fructose-rich chow without an alteration of systolic blood pressure. The plasma glucose lowering action of agmatine (1mg/kg, i.v.) was abolished by the pretreatment with BU224 (1mg/kg, i.v.) at sufficient dosage to block I(2)-imidazoline receptors. In addition, the value of glucose-insulin index, the areas under the curve of glucose and insulin during the intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test, showing an index of in vivo insulin sensitivity was reversed by the same treatment with agmatine in fructose-rich chow-fed rats; this action was also blocked by BU224. Our results suggest that activation of I(2)-imidazoline receptor to improve insulin action on glucose disposal can be considered for targeting glucose metabolism under insulin-resistant state.

Abstract
Objective. Agmatine, decarboxylated arginine, was shown in preclinical studies to exert efficacious neuroprotection by interacting with multiple molecular targets. This study was designed to ascertain safety and efficacy of dietary agmatine sulfate in herniated lumbar disc-associated radiculopathy. Study Design. First, an open-label dose escalation study was performed to assess the safety and side-effects of agmatine sulfate. In the follow-up study, participants diagnosed with herniated lumbar disc-associated radiculopathy were randomly assigned to receive either placebo or agmatine sulfate in a double-blind fashion. Methods. Participants in the first study were recruited consecutively into four cohorts who took the following escalating regimens: 1.335 g/day agmatine sulfate for 10 days, 2.670 g/day for 10 days, 3.560 g/day for 10 days, and 3.560 g/day for 21 days. Participants in the follow-up study were assigned to receive either placebo or agmatine sulfate, 2.670 g/day for 14 days. Primary outcome measures were pain using the visual analog scale, the McGill pain questionnaire and the Oswestry disability index, sensorimotor deficits, and health-related quality of life using the 36-item short form (SF-36) questionnaire. Secondary outcomes included other treatment options, and safety and tolerability assessment. Results. Safety parameters were within normal values in all participants of the first study. Three participants in the highest dose cohort had mild-to-moderate diarrhea and mild nausea during treatment, which disappeared upon treatment cessation. No other events were observed. In the follow-up study, 51 participants were randomly enrolled in the agmatine group and 48 in the placebo. Continuous improvement of symptoms occurred in both groups, but was more pronounced in the agmatine (analyzed n = 31) as compared with the placebo group (n = 30). Expressed as percent of baseline values, significantly enhanced improvement in average pain measures and in quality of life scores occurred after treatment in the agmatine group (26.7% and 70.8%, respectively) as compared with placebo (6.0% [P </= 0.05] and 20.0% [P </= 0.05], respectively). No treatment-related adverse events were noted. Conclusions. Dietary agmatine sulfate is safe and efficacious treatment for alleviating pain and improving quality of life in lumbar disc-associated radiculopathy. Study Registration. ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration System Identifier: NCT00405041.
