This review is for: BARUNSENGAK BRSG Bath Jelly 9.5oz 270g
This was our second product from the same line of jelly bath products. The first one smelled incredible and the scent definitely lingered on the body. This one states unscented but it also smells pretty darn good, very faint compared to the first one. At first it just looks like a bottle of bath salts but upon hitting hot water, the salts start to fizz and start creating a slime. It’s actually quite fantastic and the feel on skin is quite incredible. We just soaked in it (about half a bottle in half a bath tub. It still creates enough sliminess where you can see it and feel it. Feels really odd in the hair but rinses off nicely. You definitely want to be careful standing in your bathtub with this stuff because it is definitely slippery. However, it’s not as hydrating as I would have liked it to be. So I followed up with our regular moisturizer and leave-in conditioner.

Arrived in the original labeled box, box was sealed. It comes in a plastic container that’s transparent and wide. Has a round knob for the lid that twists off easily. Actually like the container. Initially comes in the form of tiny (sugar) granules. All text on bottle is in the native tongue, Korean, the box has the ingredients and ratio for how much water to add. You’re basically creating slime in a bath tub. Starts fizzing and foaming up immediately when the granules make contact with water then it starts transitioning. This probably has one of the largest ranges of tactile and consistency that you get as far as bath products. It’s similiar to jelly bombs but, since its not compressed you can create the texture and viscosity that you want. It can be really thick with a snot like consistency that also starts drying out at the same time or it can be the polar opposite being extremely thin and slippery. Either way it maintains a stretch and stringiness. It’s been a great tactile product for a sensory bin because you have more control over the jelly. One bin can have more water than granules making it a slime with alot of slip and the other bin can have less water making it thicker and globby without clumping up. Would be extra cautious if you do use it in a bathtub because it is slippery enough to make you go head first onto the floor.

This is quite expensive for the amount of product that you get.
It is quite small and lasts only a few uses, especially if you have a bigger bathtub.
The product itself is really nice and smells wonderful!

This is somewhat of a novelty product. It is a lot of fun to use. It did not cause me any redness, irritation, or breakouts. You do have to be careful because it makes surfaces slippery, and so there is some additional cleanup required afterward to make sure you have removed all traces of it.

I can read Korean. (although they provided the English instruction here, just not on the bottle itself)
Even then, when I ordered this, I didn’t really pay attention to the description. I was thinking more of a jell-o texture jelly. Thought it was a bit strange that it mentioned “great for romantic date” – humkay, my spouse and I can throw jello at each other, that will be fun, right?
The product arrived, and I tried it first. Definitely not the jello-y texture. It is SLIMY.
I decided to look up the Barunsengak company website in Korean, that’s when I found out this company sells adult products. lol Y’all. This jelly is a lube. You can create a bathtub load of lube!
Product works as intended, washes off easily afterwards, and nothing icky feeling on the skin.

My review of Barunsengak Bath Jelly:
I started out by placing a small amount of the bath jelly powder into a bowl and mixing it around. It dissolved rather quickly and the water became very viscous and slimy. It was very slick in the hand and formed stringy clumps, but really wasn’t of a solid jelly consistency like pictured on the box, though to be fair, the directions specify using 2/3 to the entire bottle rather than the small portion I did. Both the powder itself and the water once added gave off no scent.
The substance seemed to make my hand temporarily soft to the touch until I cleaned it off and then the skin felt sort of dry and tight. It did however come off easily with simple hand washing. The slipperiness in the bowl I used took a little more effort to remove the substance.
Though I’d probably have more dramatic results if I added the whole bottle to a larger receptacle, such as a bathtub, but I am kind of leery about doing so both for plumbing and safety concerns. While the box specifies it is water soluble when draining from a tub, I’m really not up to gambling on any clogged drain issues. Ditto, for the fact it is very slick once it coagulates and having a slippery bathtub and the surrounding area become an ice rink would not be my idea follow-up to a relaxing soak.
The directions also suggest the jelly can be suitable for a massage and there is the possibility it might produce an interesting sensation. However, being covered in a thick gel like one was being consumed by The Blob, strangely enough does not offer much appeal to me.
Overall, this is an interesting product, yet I can’t see much to it beyond the novelty value. Maybe if some colors were added, one could at least enjoy it in a 90’s Nickelodeon slime sort of way, but otherwise it is a product in search of a purpose. Unlike the suggested uses, I’m just not up to using it the tub for a “romantic spa date” or as part of adult fun time, as there are too many nooks and crannies I wouldn’t want this stuff to find its way into.
