I have trouble sleeping sometimes and use melatonin, but tried NOW brand valerian a few years ago and had positive results, except I felt like it gave me strange dreams at times. When I ran out I decided to try this brand, I don’t remember why.
It’s OK. I don’t feel like this is as potent and it may have a small impact on my sleep but not the same as the other brand. I’ll be reordering the other brand and discarding the rest of this one. And this is after probably going through half the bottle over the course of a year or so.

I’m old and drink lots of water so I tend to wake up in the middle of the night to go pee. I have been taking valerian pills successfully for years, but for whatever reason switched over to melatonin gummies, but they woke me up in the middle of the night – not to go pee, but I would be wide awake and hard to go back to sleep. I don’t have that problem anymore. Now I sleep through the night most nights, unless I overdo the water before bedtime, and wake up feeling refreshed. That’s the main difference between valerian and melatonin.
Melatonin wakes me up feeling fully awake. Valerian I wake up feeling fully refreshed. Melatonin is a hard reset, valerian is a soft reset.

If I take one of these, I rest so much better without waking up! I have taken it for years off and on. I don’t take it all the time, just when I start restless sleeping. Works like a charm for me.
