When I first ordered this item, was sent an entirely different item by mistake, but Amazon made it right and in the second package, I got the right item. This juice was recommended by my son’s pediatrician to help with weight gain as we are currently trying to have my sons g-tube removed. This has helped my son gain weight and he loves the taste! I do water it down about 50% juice, 50% water because it does taste pretty sweet, but other than that, this will be a staple in our house!

The taste is good, but way too sweet (sickly sweet). Most of the 250 calories is from the sugar alone, so I wouldn’t call this a “nutrition” drink. I was hoping this would work as a meal substitute while going through chemo, but one container has the full RDA amount of sugar for a day, which means 0 sugar for the rest of the day, which is unsustainable. They could easily make this with much less sugar and no additional sweetener and it would taste great!

These boost fruit, flavored drinks are packed with protein. They are served to my dad while he was in the hospital. I couldn’t find them in the grocery store so I ordered them on Amazon for him. They’re quite costly, but they are very good for you.

What bothers me about the taste may not bother everyone. For me it’s the Thiamine (aka Vitamin B-1). I absolutely hate the taste and smell of Thiamine. In fact I take each B vitamin individually instead of taking a complex because of it! But the orange flavor masks it fairly well. This thiamine taste doesn’t “repeat” on me, which is the clincher. I’ll probably try the berry flavor the next time for comparison, but I’d be fairly likely to buy this again if the berry isn’t available. It’s much better when put in the freezer until it’s slushy. I’d recommend it overall, though I do think it’s quite expensive for a small box. (It comes in cardboard boxes like kids’ juice boxes, not bottles or cans just FYI.)
