This is a thick lotion. At first it’s kind of hard to get out of the bottle. I absolutely love this lotion and the neem oil is a bonus, this lotion not only moisturizes but it does not leave any oily residue and keeps all the bugs away. This is the second bottle that I have purchased and I could not live without it. At first it gave me a rash on my legs however second time using it no rush at all I think it’s because we are not used to the ingredients and I love the smell so much I had to give it a second try now I cannot live without it, it is my go to every day out of the shower or at night lotion!

I’ve been looking for a natural, cruelty free lotion that I like for a very long time. I’ve tried several different brands and haven’t really fallen in love with any of them. The search may be over! This lotion is fantastic – not too runny and leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized without any greasiness.
The thing that made me most nervous about ordering this on Amazon was whether or not the scent would be tolerable. I read the reviews on all of the different scents that Nubian Heritage offers and had a few frontrunners. I’m very happy that I went with this one as it is subtle, earthy and has a very faint hint of something floral. As a person who hates strong-smelling products (especially synthetic perfume), it was a huge relief that this product is gentle on the senses. By no means is it unscented, but it is not distractingly strong or unpleasant.
One word of advice for people who don’t like thick lotion – this stuff is thick! I live in Colorado where it is perpetually dry and I prefer a thicker lotion, but if you like yours the consistency of a Jergens-type pump lotion, this is not for you.

This lotion went on so smoothly! It wasn’t as thick as another type of lotion I bought from this brand (African Black Soap). There is hemp oil in it, so it is still creamy but the oil causes it to just absorb right in. The smell is wonderful – so light and unique!
I would recommend this lotion – so far all of their lotions I’ve tried are high quality and my skin loves them

I’m a huge fan of this lotion. It’s rich and creamy without being heavy or greasy. The natural scent is clean and fresh and doesn’t bother my sinuses at all, where sweeter, heavier fragrances do. And I can use it head to toe. I use it on my face 1-2 times a week during the winter and it keeps my face hydrated without making it oily. I’ve used it on my lips when lip balm was unavailable, and slather it on my arms, legs, and feet every day. Last summer I got a sunburn so bad it felt like bruises. On a hunch, I applied this lotion to the burn, and it calmed the heat while allowing my skin to breathe. I don’t usually “do” sun because I burn so easily, but I was amazed how quickly it healed with this. I also have keratosis pilaris on my arms, and this calms that right down, leaving wonderful softness behind. Just the other day I had a flair up of contact dermatitis on my hands. I mixed one drop of lavender essential oil into this lotion and rubbed it into my hands, and the pain and itching immediately stopped. I can’t say enough good things about this stuff. I obviously have very sensitive skin with a number of issues to address, and this beautiful stuff takes care of it all.

Quite good. Not too greasy… but not dry. Lovely fragrance though I much prefer the honey and blackseed oil and coconut & papaya lotions which sadly are also scarce in London/UK.

I love the scent and texture of this lotion! it is my favourite ever! I first discovered it 7 years ago when travelling in California and was amazed by the scent and quality.
Since then I always order a few each year to keep me going – as i live in UK and so I get it from Amazon, they do not seem to sell it in health shops here.
Anyway it makes me smell amazing and my skin so soft. I love the ingredients I do believe they have slightly changed them , it used to be creamier and a stronger scent- and some different ingredients.
I have read reviews of many people being very disappointed and upset about the change of ingredients but for me I am still happy with this product and looking forward to applying it to my skin everyday! Its so moisturising and doesn’t make me itch or dry. And the smell lasts subtly all day.

I was excited to try this lotion, based on the reviews and the list of natural ingredients, but I wasn’t prepare for how amazing it would be! I completely LOVE the fragrance, which is wonderful, fresh, and unique without being overpowering–and the texture is beyond description… But I’ll try: it’s rich and creamy like a fancy melted ice cream or maybe a velvety pudding; definitely something you’d want to eat. It goes on easily and rubs in well, no sticky residue or greasy feeling. It actually feels like a light lotion after you’ve put it on, yet it heals and protects your skin like a rich body butter. This is my dream lotion, and well worth the price!

This is my everyday go-to lotion to relieve my dry skin. It has a very thick consistency so I put it into a cream jar for easier access. You will find it very difficult to get it out of the bottle. It is not greasy and has a pleasant scent. I have not found a better lotion that relieves my dry skin at this price point. This is probably my sixth order in the last two years. Please don’t change this lotion – please.
Long way home –
I have used several different Nubian Heritage lotions and soaps. I will not buy any other. Exceptional quality for an extremely reasonable price. This lotion is very thick and hard to get out of the bottle. I store it upside down. I put a little in my hand and then a couple squirts of NaPca by TwinLab and this makes a little bit of this lotion go a very long way. It smells so clean and wonderful. No greasiness. Dries quickly. Love it!

Very heavy, even when using on damp skin. Good winter lotion/cream. Very strongly scented, had a lot of comments…not sure if that’s a positive or negative. Didn’t use long enough to notice a difference in my skin as it felt too heavy all over body.
