The cleaner is Easy to assemble, fill, use, clean, push and pull. ( I’m nearing 70 years old and it didn’t hurt my back). I cleaned 3 large area rugs three long runner area rugs . The rugs are short nap, Safavieh brand. I used the liquid cleaning product that came with the cleaner and spent about 2.5 hours. I spot cleaned a few areas. I refilled the tank three times and dumped it one time. The cleaner bristles up the nap fuzz and guck, and I picked it off the carpet . It doesn’t get stuck in the machine or dump water . The cleaning solution is not overpowering, the rugs are dry the next morning. Machine was easy to clean. Even if I used this only once or twice a year it is well worth the money spent on labor. If I can do it, you can! Next week I’m going to do the sofa and try the attachments.

Wow! This machine is a beast! So I had recently shampooed my carpets with the shark shampooer. That thing put down more than ot can suck up, my carpets were soggy with one pass!!! This Bissel had my carpets so dry so quick! I used the express mode as my carpets are fairly new and had as stated above recently cleaned. It worked so well. I didn’t use the shampoo it came with because I’m obsessed with Rocco and Roxies brand which is where I saw this machine (from thier ad). I loved how easy it was to manuever. It left beautiful carpet lines that actually made it easy to see where I need to keep the machine for passes and where I’ve already cleaned. The brushroll and cover are easy to remove and clean. I’m so happy it came with the tool to get up in the cover to really get it clean as new. One thing I dislike but not enough to lower stars, is that the tanks can’t be thoroughly dried so I can’t put machine back together right away. Overall I’m super impressed with this machine and how beautiful it made my carpets look and smell. Thank you Bissel!!!!!!

I’m replacing a bissell 2x proheat from many years ago and I looked at other mfg also. This machine does a good job with pet hair and seems to do a better job cleaning than my proheat and it definitely does a better job sucking up the solution. Its really easy to see how much liquid is coming out of the carpet in the view window. I like how easy the system is to clean, pop off the top and rinse it off. my old machine had the hose attached which was nice but I don’t find this one hard to attach / remove. It is overall lighter than the old one too! The solution tank is easy to remove and fill and so is the dirty tank.
all-in-all this is a good replacement and upgrade.
my two complaints, the dirty tank has a very low empty mark, it doesn’t take much to fill it. I realize you can’t fill the dirty tank completely and you need room for suds so they don’t go into the motor but this seems like an absurdly low level. The other is the brush bar is always running and I fear it will damage the carpet when using the hose because you’re not moving the machine. it just sits there with the brush bars running in the same spot.
The 3-star and lower reviews are mostly highly rated but the concerns listed by many I suspect are out of incorrect expectations. Some seem to expect the same amount of water put down from the clean tank will be picked up into the dirty tank, that will never the the expectation. Having the tanks on the handle don’t seem to be much of a concern with overall weight but that could vary from person to person based on strength.

First impressions coming from a Hoover Pro Clean Pet that only lasted 7mo.
This Bissel didn’t put down and pull up as much water. I had this on the “deep” (medium) setting (I LIKE having options) and the Hoover didn’t have settings (and let’s face it, it was leaking and dumping water by the end of its life). So cleaning didn’t take nearly as long with this but seems to have gotten the carpet clean enough. I’ll play around with the settings. I could have gone slower. It took a little over one tank to clean about 20’x15′. The gallon dirty water tank was not even half full when the bobber reached its meager limit and shut off something. The noise changed so I refilled the clean water tank and began again but it wanted me to empty the dirty tank too. I guess it’s not a problem though since I got most of the room done.
On this Bissel:
The spray trigger was WAY easier to pull.
The cord was longer.
The tanks and attachments felt lightweight and flimsy. Hopefully they will hold out a long time.
As other reviews said, the brushes don’t stop spinning, so I was careful not to let it sit still at all.
It was a tiny bit more complicated to clean out afterward. I took off the plastic hood and stuck a hose through the back but one clump of hair wouldn’t dislodge so I had to go find the long skinny tool the provide. Not a huge deal. The brushes were super quick and easy to hose off. The tank with the bobber needed to be rinsed and swished a bit longer to get the fur clumps out.
No fur clumps were left on the carpet. Those hyperactive brushes do their duty, and the suction must be better because they disappear into the tank with the dirty water. The Hoover left them all over the rug (yes I always vacuumed beforehand).
It didn’t seem unusually loud to me.
The carpet is not as wet when I’m done.
I’m quite happy with this right out the gate. I’ll update if it gives me grief, and I’ll add a star if I’m thrilled to bits after a year. I was on the fence between getting this and the Bissel Revolution HydroSteam. I think this one is going to meet my needs (to get some cat pee spots out and keep up with normal family feet oils and medium shorthaired dog dirt tracked in). They almost talked me into the heavier HydroSteam with deeper steam cleaning and better suction, but I think this one will be fine. My sink water gets really hot and the suction seems very good.
The sides of the Bissel get hot. It says Heavewave Technology on it, so maybe the whole thing is supposed to get warm to the touch?
