great taste or no taste I add it to my smoothies everyday

I was really curious about blue spirulina as I am more familiar with and often take the regular green one. When I opened this, the first thing I noticed, other than the bright blue color, was the lack of that fishy smell you get from spirulina in general. Then I decided to taste it and was pleasantly surprised that it is the most mild tasting algae I’ve ever had.
The only problem I really have is forgetting to add this to stuff. I mainly just drink water and I don’t want that flavor in my container. Powder is always hard to get used to using if you haven’t made a habit of it or your food would be drastically altered by the flavor if you added it. By that I mean I have recently started making very minimalistic meals that would be easy to take away the very basic flavor from if you added even the smallest amount of this powder. I would have to change what I eat in order to incorporate this more often into my meals and right now I’m on a good dieting path and won’t be changing my eating habits just to add this.
I’m sure it’s probably best to keep this in the refrigerator after opening. Most good quality algae (chlorella and spirulina) supplements will tell you this on their packaging.

This spirulina has no fishy taste and I like that it’s made in the US. I did however buy this to make stuff blue for my kids and this particular brand states that it is not safe for kids. I did a little research and it looks like spirulina is good for kids too so I’m not sure why this brand is not recommended for little ones. Other than that the product was great, no flavor to it so you can put it on anything like smoothies or baked goods

This powder is so easy to use in smoothies. It does have a strong flavor so I tend to break up the dose. It’s really great quality and I like turning stuff blue

Spirulina reportedly contains lots of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents and I take it from tie to time to keep myself going strong. Good product bit a bit costly.

I use this for “natural” coloring in dog treats and other baking goods. It’s beautiful!! Great quality spirulina!

I vaguely remember spirulina having been a bit of a health trend in the late 90s/early 2000s, since I had that “almond mom.” I didn’t think about it much for myself but this came up and I thought I would try it. I am busy and can’t home-cook like I should, so I know there are nutritional gaps.
This powder is extremely bright, cobalt blue—I never would’ve known you could find that color on a plant. And since I’m Vine’s unofficial Sea Moss Gel Mixologist, but I missed out on the last round of that being given out, I decided why not mix the spirulina in a cocktail to try it out.
I was surprised at how tiny the scooper is. It was also completely buried in the powder and required digging around with a spoon to fish it out. This resulted in a slight mess. I might suggest that our friends at Biophix attach the scooper to the top of the lid instead or package it separately. I scooped the recommended amount in with some limoncello-flavored sparkling water and adult beverage enhancer, and the resulting drink is just as lovely a blue as it is in the container. My college has blue as one of its colors so I’m thinking, if expiration dates allow, I’ll save some to make festive gameday drinks for friends during football season. (Our basketball team is a whole mess so nobody’s watching that right now. And now you’ve probably figured out where I went to school.)
I was unsure if it would taste good since there is no additional ingredient other than the spirulina itself. But from the little bits of powder that clumped up rather than mixed in, it’s slightly sweet—not bad at all.
Definitely 5 stars for the product itself thus far—having to fish for the scooper was a small packaging problem that is an easy fix. Looking forward to the tailgate drink creations I can make with it in the fall!
