Had to get this from the US as strangely nobody here in Australia makes a bile salts- only bile acids with varying degrees of active ingredient and mostly just paying top dollar for the companion nutrients in them.
They are a bit pricey of $55 by the time you factor in shipping as well just as an FYI.
They’re tiny capsules and easy to swallow.
Wish I’d discovered these years ago but instead was just floundering between ACV, betaine HCL, digestive enzymes and probiotics, because we’re not really told about bile salts anywhere near enough to get the most out of that whole picture, which would prevent gallbladder issues to begin with along with fat soluble vitamin malabsorption. It’s almost like they don’t want people to know just how important bile salts are to healthy digestion and absorption of nutrients. Just because you swallowed something doesn’t mean that your small intestine absorbed it and got to actually use it.
Edit: I’ve come back to edit this review and drop it from 5 stars to 2.
I’ve attempted 3 times over the last week to contact this company with a question about the deterioration of the capsules and have been repeatedly ignored and childishly stonewalled.
They are difficult to contact via email and social media especially for those of us outside the US yet the website says they respond within a business day- they’ve failed on that repeatedly.
They don’t have an email address they’ve publicised- they just have an online form that doesn’t allow for uploading pictures either.
They have multiple sites- gallbladder attack and a WordPress site- both of which they’ve ignored communication from and is beyond rude and opportunistic in this day and age.
Deborah Graefer is listed as the public face of the company.
If I don’t get a response to my question of why the product has recently discoloured to a greenish black well before the use by date, I will drop the rating further.
Customer service and answering feedback questions is part of the rating process.
I currently have a second bottle on order in transit but will endeavour to give my money to a more respectful and professional company.

Edit: I sent my email a third time and it too has been deliberately ignored- I have now given them a 1 star rating.
Buyer beware- this product is clearly hit and miss and you’ll get no communication nor accountability from them.
Once I receive my final order I’ll be buying my next bile salts from a more reputable and professional company with better quality products and communication skills.

Ordered two bottles of ox bile, and opened them just now. All the capsules are rotten or have gotten bad. they are dark black in colour and look exposed to moisture and sunlight. the bottles were sealed when they arrived, and both the batches turned out to be spoiled.
I cannot return them now because the return window has passed.

I was hoping very much that this product would help me with pain that may be a result of Liver/Gall Bladder, but I was wrong. That said, it did help my son like a miracle and he will buy this no matter the price. I found it quite expensive and with no help with digestion of fats and gall bladder issues I will not be buying this same product again.

I purchased this product based off the reviews, I had done some research on “Is it really hard to lose weight after gallbladder removal? ” I had my gallbladder removed a year ago and since then I haven’t been able to lose any weight I actually started gaining, And I was constantly having heartburn ,indigestion problems and none of the doctors warned me about the weight issues or indigestion issues once my gallbladder was removed, except that I would have to eat differently and told me I might want to look up some information on gallbladder diet. I discussed the weight issue again with my doctor and she put me on Phentermine…. still nothing. That’s when the research started and I came across these capsules, between the reviews and everything I was reading it sounded really good so I bought a bottle to try it. I take 2 to 3 capsules at every meal depending on how starchy or fat content of the meal. if it’s high in fat and starch then I will take three. But it definitely works!! My food started digesting like it was supposed to no more heartburn or indigestion and because of that I believe that this is what has helped me with the weight loss. When I started the bottle my weight was 226 I went back to the doctor yesterday for a regular checkup and I am down to 207. I am also now on my second bottle of the ox bile salts and I would say it took about three weeks to start noticing the weight was coming off. I take them with me everywhere, I will not be caught eating anything again without these pills to help with the digestion process. If you’re missing your gallbladder and you’re having trouble losing weight and you’re constantly having indigestion and heartburn I highly recommend these pills!!

I had my gallbladder removed in 2000. I had no idea just how important the bile produced was to our bodies functions, I was told before, and after, the surgery that nothing would change. However the first thing I noticed was my sudden intense dislike for anything that tasted the slightest bit greasy. While I know that’s good from a cholesterol standpoint, it meant even the slightest grease/fat taste on something was very distasteful to me. While I’d never been a big fast food eater, nor did I deep fry anything at home, I was surprised to see that even low fat foods affected how I began to chose my meals. Then the constipation began. While I do work with a pain management dr. due to multiple back and neck fusions, and those medications can cause constipation, my issue was over the top. For years I’ve battled constipation, attributing it to probably having IBS and the pain meds. in my system, so when I saw a video on youtube about the need to give your body bile salts if you’ve had your gallbladder removed, I was instantly interested. So I bought this bottle and for the past 3 weeks I’ve been using it. It doesn’t have any smell (I read some review complaints about that), and the capsules are small. I’ve taken 1 to 3 at a time, with and without food, for three weeks now. It could be that because I’ve had constipation for so long that it’s taken a while to change my system, but today I finally had a nice normal bowel movement with no pain or strain. I’m going to continue to take this bottle and will be ordering a second bottle as the joy of having a normal bowel movement is wonderful. For those who’ve had their gallbladder removed, really struggle with constipation and have tried all methods of dealing with it (enemas, diet changes, drinking tons of water, etc.), I suggest you give these a try. I’m not a medical dr., so I can’t endorse these from a professional standpoint. I am simply a layperson who’s been looking high and low for help, and I’m hoping that I’ve finally found the answer to my issue and can return to eating foods I’ve had to give up.

This has helped us a lot with gall bladder and liver issues. We take two capsules when we first get up on an empty stomach. This was recommended by Dr Berg who has a really helpful explanation as to why to take it this way. It’s helped us and we’ll continue to take until our digestive issues are solved.

I have been without my gall bladder since 2003. I’m now 40 yrs old and Female. I’ve been suffering with acid reflux for a really long time. Recently it has become a little more intense. I found information on line that without a gall bladder you should add in bile salts to help. Let me tell you that it really does.
(1st) let me say this is the smallest pill ever! It has a smell to it but if you don’t sniff it and just take it fast you will be fine.
(2nd) my acid reflux has pretty much gone away when I take these.
It kind of appears later at night but I think that is just when the pill is tapering off. So I just pop another.
I’m not recommending that for you though. I am not sure how many you are supposed to take daily.
You need to test this just like anything else and do what works for you.
(3rd) when I take these I am no longer hungry. I am somewhat broken since the removal of my gall bladder so I am always hungry. It doesn’t matter what I eat or when I eat I am always hungry – so this is a HUGE BLESSING that was totally unexpected. Maybe I will be able to stop visits to the Diet Dr which is $120 a month. That may also help me get off of the diet pills that I have been on for way too long. I have to take them to suppress my appetite otherwise I just eat and eat and eat and eat…. I pray that this continues.. Good luck to everyone reading this. You have to find the right combination of things to help you heal yourself.
