Burns some and may keep you awake. Works great when fresh out of the packaging. Over time and use it gets less effective. I’m getting a couple months in my pocket from each. Occasionally using it for allergies and probably a cold within that time.

I’ve been using these for decades at times when I can’t breathe out of my nose. The inhaler doesn’t really have a scent. Rather, it gives off a strong, tingly sensation when you inhale, and there’s an immediate feeling of relief as your nostrils open up. Unlike nose drops, it’s a dry inhale, so no snot running down your face when you use it. Depending on how often you use the stick and how tight you screw the top on, it can last for a year or so. After a while, it gradually becomes less strong.

Benzedrex (Propylhexedrine) is a nasal decongestant that is available OTC in an inhaler. It is used short term to temporarily relieve nasal congestion due to colds, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation of the mucous membrane lining of the nose.
Consumers should only use Benzedrex according to the directions on the label. Do not use it in ways other than by inhalation because doing so can cause serious harm, such as heart and mental health problems. Some of these problems can lead to death. Use as intended does not impose any risk or serious health problems.
Do not put the inhaler deeply into the nose, simply hold inhaler lateral raising nostal slightly leaving room for air to enter as well. This will prevent overdose and dizziness that can occur with overdose. The product does have a slight vick smell, but that leaves when the inhaler is removed from nose. This is a very good product that can be used as a suppliment to medical treatment and care. It works for me. Hope that helps.

This is the best nasal decongestant going. Not a messy spray that I think sometimes can make things worse, this stuff is dry, convenient, and effective. I use a saline rinse at night to get gunk out, but this is always close to hand for general nasal issues.

This inhaler surely works really well, unplugged my nasal by one spray. Very happy! Seems it works deep inside of nasal that I needed. Only two days of using it, so time can tell. But I am happy that I can breathe now. I couldn’t breathe much as my nasal got totally plugged up, I even woke up at night having short breath. So, I am happy right now. I only use as recommended. Smell doesn’t bother me, but yes it smells bad in the way but smell of medicine that doesn’t bother me. If its work or not bother me….:>)
Some reviewer talked about can’t open it. It is pretty tightened up that is GOOD, so it won’t contaminate easily. I recommend using a Plier. It opens really easily using a plier. I do Fixer Upper often where need to be fix. So, I use all type of tools, chainsaws, etc. so, I used a Plier to open it. Somehow this year my nasal plugged up so badly that I hardly could breathe all day long. I even woke up at night being short breath. I have been using a mist humidifier that help a lot as I didn’t have any plugged up nasal ever since, four years. But this year, I needed some help to unplug my nasal, thought about inhaler. Seems all reviewers says “Works”, so I purchased it. I am glad that I purchased this one.

This is only product that keeps my nasal passages from plugging up while simultaneously dripping, when reclining on my stomach for a massage. Only other people who enjoy a relaxing massage can relate to how uncomfortable it is to have one’s nose dripping and to not being able to breathe properly, while trying to enjoy a massage. I’ve tried so many other products over the years to no avail. A couple of whiffs from this inhaler just before reclining totally solves the problem.

I’ve had chronic sinusitis and been using these off and on for years. They work well to quickly loosen things up and relieve stuffiness. They smell very unpleasant, and if they don’t smell offensive, you likely got a defective one, which I have experienced with several I have bought on Amazon. It burns/stings when you inhale it and may cause you to tear up, which is part of what I think helps increase nasal drainage and open up your nasal passages. It works differently than a menthol inhaler like Vicks or Nielmed, but is more effective for me and works quicker. The packaging needs to be cut with scissors and pretty much completely destroyed to get into and then has a threaded cap to open the tube to the inhalant. The only complaint I have is once you open them, they don’t last more than about a month or so at most and rapidly lose efficacy during that time.
