I was first introduced to Primal Bars before they went to market as the developer and founder is a client of my performance and recovery center. Shane shared his story about his health journey of consuming raw liver and then turning it into a consumable bar, which is now the primal bar that we have access to. He gave me a couple of bars to try, and the first bar I had, I consumed about an hour before going back to my Thai boxing trainer after several months out of the gym; I had no doubts I would be gassed and on the verge of passing out through a lack of cardiovascular fitness due to my down time out of the gym. Still, to my surprise, I powered through my session like I was in a conditioned fight camp, ready to step into the ring. Since then, I’ve become a regular consumer of these bars around my training and lull points of my working day; they are an incredible energy boost and packed full of nutrients with no junk fillers like many other bars on the market. They taste great and are the perfect health snack on the run to boost energy when feeling a little empty.

To be totally blunt, these dont taste great. At first when you bite in and start chewing, its like hmm ok! then you hit the strong after taste. And IMO its not really a ‘protein snack’. It’s got 10g protein, a whopping 10g fat, and also a high 26g carb per bar. Low on protein. Unless you have a specific need with collagen or something, not sure i’d recommend these. Especially when they dont taste great.

Now I am very much a healthy person always looking for a way to help myself, especially with food! So when I saw these bars, I was very much interested in them and wanted to try them. Now for the price I will say that they are a bit much, but again they are a health food somewhat and that does come with the domain. Now when trying them for the first time I noticed that they are somewhat strong, and it is an acquired taste for them. I gave some out to try and see what others had thought of them and some liked them and some didn’t so take that with a grain of salt. They are not like a normal protein bar with chocolate flavoring and such. Overall if you’re into health foods and something like organs/ liver doesn’t bother you than I’d say at least try them if you want as they do have a good nutrition profile which is nice.

This bar is delicious! Tastes like a chocolate brownie with almonds but doesn’t have that fake sweetened taste. You can just tell they used clean ingredients. Great consistency too. It’s just the right amount of moist and chewy and it doesn’t stick to your teeth like some other bars do. Plus if you compare the nutrients to other bars it blows them away on the vitamins and minerals. I’m an active guy (gym/biking/hiking) so it’s perfect for when I want something small beforehand as it keeps me going and doesn’t mess with my stomach. Recommend for sure 👍

This is my second box of Primal Power, and I’m loving it! If you’re not a fan of liver, no worries—there’s absolutely no liver taste. Instead, you get all the benefits with a rich, brownie-like flavor. The ingredients are clean and high quality, making it stand out compared to other protein bars. Highly recommend!

I heard about this new liver powered energy bar and wanted to try it as liver is supposed to be really good for you but I wasn’t sure if I’d like it because it’s made with liver. It’s delicious!!
This chocolate bar, mixed with almond sea salt is so tasty and knowing it’s healthy and good for you, who would have known it was made with liver in it! It also makes me feel good and gives me a little pick up in my day! I’ve reached full retirement age and still working. I bring one to work with me to eat for my morning snack, it’s a great way to start the day. Who doesn’t need a little pick-me-up anyway!
