Received these protein bars that sat outside on my front step in the sun on a hot/humid day for several hours. I do not believe they are melted even though they did NOT have a cool pack inside like listed that they would. Can’t wait for my husband to try them.

This is one of my favorite Pure Protein bar flavors. Practically every protein bar out there is something-something chocolate. I’m sick of chocolate. The lemon of these is very tasty, not bitter like some other bars I’ve tried. The white “chocolate” coating give it a lemon cream flavor, and the layered texture just makes it all around different. This is a very welcome change! What wasn’t welcome was what I received.
I SPECIFICALLY chose this seller because it stated they come with a cold pack if it’s over 75°. I live in the Vegas area, and it’s still over 90° every day. I made the mistake of buying some that were a squishy, puddled mess by the time I got them. STRIKE ONE.
The boxes they came in were in bad shape as well. One was completely open at the flaps and part of the perforation with the bars spilled out, one had the perforation separated, and the last had the flaps unglued. It made me think they were either returns or were carelessly handled. Just not what one would expect when purchasing food items. STRIKE TWO.
Last but not least, as it’s probably the most important, these are OLD. The shelf life upon distribution is 1 year according to the company. These, which I purchased October 2023, have a “best by” date of January 2024, so they have been sitting around for about 9 months. In fact, I still have some from a purchase a month or so ago, and they have a date of May 2024, so I have to use these up before I finish off those. Even the packaging changed during that time.
Listen, I’m not one of those people who thinks food that is good one day is poison the next because of the date on the package. A date is required by the FDA. But come on! I have nothing against buying food with short dates, but they are usually discounted, not full price. And how can I know how well these were stored for 9 months? Just not cool. And when I opened them, they have gone dark (see picture comparison) and taste bland. Three strikes are you’re out! I recommend this flavor of bar from Pure Protein. I DO NOT recommend this seller. STRIKE THREE, YOU’RE OUT!

We are frequent purchasers of pure protein bars. Our family goes through piles of them. The lemon cake is definitely a family favorite. It is delicious! Also, the shipping was very fast.

These bars are so tasty that you do a double take to make sure you’re not eating a candy bar! But they have a good amount of protein and don’t have the rotten aftertaste that some bars do. I’ve purchased these again and again. My family loves them because they’re easy to grab and go, assuring you have the fuel you need.
